Default 2020 Topps Series 2

I’m seeing some crazy pre sale numbers for series 2 already. Is it too soon to speculate who’s RC will be in this?

High prices because of 2019 Series 2 (2018 Update lead to high initial prices for 2019). However, if Robert is on the Opening Day roster I think he'll crack the product for one player.

He already has an extension. It would be crazy for them to not start him opening day right?

Right, the other guys who will maybe be in this will be in this are guys who teams are circumventing Super 2 with. Maybe Carlson, maybe Adell? It's a buncha maybe.

(Also no on cares, but Evan White should be here as he signed his MLB extention.)

2020 Series 2 will have Luis Robert and that's it for superstar potential. And that's only if he breaks camp as a starter (which is most likely).

To be included in Series 2, you need to either have been called up already (end of 2019) or break camp (like Eloy, Alonso and Tatis last year). Vlad got called up at the end of April and they had to make him a NNO to be included.

Robert will be the opening day CF for the Sox. Problem is, he hasn't played a game in the majors yet. Hate to see terrible air-brushed photos on rookie cards.

Or a bunch of spring training photos like Eloy, who looked much different on many of his early issues and autograph cards than he looked in season. I think the may have been from 2019 or even 2018 ST, as Eloy looked heavier/out of shape in a lot of his autographs that were on card.

No, no, and no. It isn't a shock that the powers at be want to try and drive up prices on standard Topps products, because they will have 1000 cases to move. The person losing? The consumer.

You would think, But why has Blowout just raised the price again a few days ago to 1,600 a case. You think they know something we don't. I am beginning to think so.

Yeah I see what you are saying. But literally every product from every sport is priced insane

They don't care how good of a product it is, they care what people will pay for it. They probably raised the price because preorders were going well at the previous price.

Like a pre-rookie card. Strawberry and Ripken had them in the 80s.

But aren't XRCs cards from a factory set that wasn't distributed in packs a year before the player's actual RC? Ala 1986 Topps Traded Barry Bonds?

Then again, it's 2020... anything goes....

Seems like XRCs would just add more confusion to the market....2nd & 3rd year Bowman prospect cards of a player are already hard enough to value...it could almost devalue the value of regular RCs
