Anyone know if 2020 Topps will have the Purple Border cards again and if these will be a Meijer Exclusive once again?

Looks like these are back inserted with Blister packs again and it's 2 cards per package. These are easily searchable if I remember from last year so not worth buying sealed.

I think it will be a good year for these. The 2 I just pulled from one blister are significantly more appealing cards than the regular base cards - In My Opinion, because grey and baseball cards are just not generally a great combo, and there often isn't enough color in the basic design + the image in question. So a player wearing his road greys on this design with some of the weaker team logos is just kind of meh.
Fill in all that grey design space with Purple and the card is far more memorable. I don't think these will be that easily searched, particularly with the S1 blisters. S2 blisters with only one card are different. |

Found these freshly stocked at Meijer today. Here are photos of front & back if it helps anyone track them down.
These seem to be marginally better in packaging, meaning it seems to be slightly more difficult to see what purple cards are inside IMO. I think these will be popular, scarce parallels. ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

These seem to have dried up fast. Someone smarter than me could probably guesstimate a print run on the purple parallels, but guessing they will be scarce..?

I picked up the Carlos Santana for my PC. It's not a bad looking card!

The first one I found had obviously been searched, because it looked like the blister had been pushed in. The second one I found had also been roughed up, the corners on both cards were trashed. No one good, fortunately/predictably.

Bought 12 off ebay at a pretty good price.
Also have family in the area of Meijer stores so when they go shopping for food, I will tell them to look for me. |

Not sure. I found the collation to be pretty good, but obviously the big hits a bit more elusive. If these are not restocked often, I think the demand for these will only increase as the season goes on.

There are 2 per pack now. But there are far more than double the cards out there already. Anyone able to figure out why? Is Meijer the only place to get these? |

Yes only Meijer. Every store probably got about 18 blisters to start, rather than 10 of those Power Cubes that have the Update cards. Some stores probably still have some for sale & re-stocks will appear. Last year, most stores around me had them for 9+ months straight, in quantity.

I saw 21 each at two of my Meijers. Then there were 10 more in the front by the regsiters at one of them. So maybe there's simply more of them.
The 2019 cubes had series 2, and there were blisters with 2019 series 2 also. |

This is the 3rd year Meijers has carried these, also in Opening Day. Blowout sometimes sells off unsold ones after the season is over. Others get taken apart by MJ Holdings and used in their repack products.
The 2019 Update Purples were handled differently than all the other releases. |

Not in my opinion. You can clearly see the cards without manipulating the packaging. The problem is they’re loose and to mobile, nothing to protect them. Surprised by now they haven’t gotten together with topps to just place them in a pack or box like walgreens

I agree- wish the purple cards were sealed like the yellows. But it is a minor improvement over last year's batch.

Glad Topps packaged them this year. Not glad it's a piece of cake to see which cards are in the blister pack. But at least there are singles available for sale.

When these are found restocked, they seem to be a much lower quantity than when they initially appeared. Have a hunch these parallels will be tough to find.

I haven't seen any at the three meijer by me, suspect one person bought them all. I did buy a few singles on ebay.
