Default Which side would you rather be on for this high end trade?

1: MJ collections Gem auto + $900 PayPal

Or

2: 1989 Cao Muflon Jordan authentic (extremely Rare to find maybe only 20 that survived... only 12 graded Total BGS & PSA combined and highest grade is a 8)

Having not even the slighted clue on the value of either one of these I'd take the Jordan auto every single day.

Muflon for me. If the auto wasn't faded, it would be a tougher call though.

Auto all day, unless youre an "advanced" collector, have jordan autos and have moved on to the truly hard to find items.

I'd much rather have the Yugoslavian

Because if I'm doing a trade like this I'm going to assume the person is an "advanced" collector and clearly deals in high end and/or rare Jordan cards. They aren't just randomly taking someones word for it that 20 copies survived. They know what they are doing.

That's a different circle to run in.

You can find another copy of the autograph at some point.

I feel the question is whether the value of the trade is good or not. The problem is the there are no comps on the Caos Muflons.

Muflons the stuff of legends. I agree on this one. The rarity here is only hurt by the obscurity. But anyone who followed his rare items for a few decades know that this IS is rarest 1980s issue.

That auto on first is fading or at least the lettering starting. Never been a fan of fading autos. I have one of Kobe and magic that I despise looking at with fading lol. With that said, I wouldn’t take either. Supposively that Second one is super rare. If one must choose, I’ll take second one.

I'm going to with Option A/1. A sweet auto and +$900. Yep, that's where I'm going. I don't even know the other card. Cool and rare, but just don't know it, so for PC I'd do the Auto and Money...

I'm sure they still hold good value, but I wouldn't want a fading auto in my collection.

You have to go with what you prefer, and the more I think about it, I think I would go for the Muflon even if the auto was perfect. It's probably not as much of an investment piece as the auto would be, but it's very unique and very cool.

Here I thought Yugoslavia was only known for their automobiles.

For those of you who don't know or have never heard of the Cao Muflon card here is the story and why it's so rare:

Back when the card industry was getting started and basketball was becoming hot overseas with guys like Vlade Divac, Arvydas Sabonis, Kukoc etc. The NBA partnered with a company in Yugoslvia to produce a line of sticker cards to build the interest in Yugoslavia. The set was called C'ao Muflon. It featured 73 total stickers, and a wall poster to sticker them to. Sticker #71 was blank for a "create your own". So really 72 players. However, the factory was basically an old unused warehouse were these were being printed and stored. It was a 3rd world country with low tech as you can imagine. Shortly after the designs were approved and started to print, the factory burned down. All the inventory was burned in the process. A few years later...1993, 94 the same people made another product that made it to market, but never commanded the interest of the first set from 1989 because the 93-94 cards were available everywhere and mass produced. An interview with a former worker at the warehouse stated that less than 10% of the print run made it out of the warehouse before the day of the fire. The boxes were not full sets, but rather individual players. Almost no MJ made it out. They are all low grade with centering and surface issues. They were hand cut so bad centering and the paper stock was low grade and creases easily. According to Beckett Grading Pops there are only 10 that have been graded (8 is the highest grade, 3-8's,4-7.5, 1-7, 1-6, 1-4.5) according to PSA only 2 have been graded (1-PSA 9 OC) and 1-Auth. As you can see these are extremely rare and only high end big time Jordan Collectors really know about them and how tough they are! Hope this helps inform anyone who didnt know!

As a collector of MJ's 80's foreign stuff I'd go with that Muflon in a heartbeat. I've seen just two pop-up for sale since I got back into the hobby in early 2017.

On a sidenote, why did UD airbrush over I'm assuming a Celtics jersey on the left on the auto?

You don't have an Authentic graded from Beckett but show one for PSA. Is that backwards? The Authentic above is graded by Beckett.

That’s correct... BGS doesn’t show a pop for authentic slabs... I think it’s because it wasn’t actually “Graded”. But I’m not 100% sure.

The Kukoc CAO is not as rare as the Jordan. But the CAO was one of Kukoc's first cards so I am a fan of the set. Not sure value wise but if they were destroyed or removed due not having the license to do Jordan cards I would go for the Jordan.
