This has been pushed back the past two years so we should expect the same this year especially with what is going on.

Why is a 5 month delay announced 2 weeks before release. Topps does not make sense

Could explain the recent jump in price for 2021 Heritage. Maybe they dont release 2020 HHN which would put Robert and others in the 2021 release..just thinking out loud.

Most likely Topps is going to include many of the prospects, now rookies that get to play in the beginning of the season that become eligible for cards. This product could be loaded with big name rookies that get a chance to play. If you haven't bought yet, buy now. If Wander Franco gets any time playing soon, we may see his name on the checklist for HHN this year. And Luis Robert is already advertised to be in the product. This could be HUGE!

This doesn't make any sense. Does anyone pay attention to what Topps does from year to year? Last year they held out Yordan Alvarez from an early point in the summer for 2020 products. They are not adding anyone else to the RC designation for 2020 products after using "Call-up" cards for the top prospects in Topps Now. They are leaving money on the table by not making them Rookie Cards. 2021 will be loaded with rookies if the season continues the way it has started. 2020 HHN will have Robert and that's about it.

I like this... delay it all year so they can include call ups and new RCs into it...kinda like update. I'm okay waiting till after xmas

The only thing I think of is Topps is watching flagship popularity soar and Heritage wane. Maybe giving Update the shaft and loading HHN would be their attempt to balance the demand somewhat?

Still expected before the end of the year so can't change the rules. Remember the fiasco with Bowman Heritage last year and the Alvarez RC.

The rookies that were called up and in time to get the RC logo. I am sure it is a generic term Topps uses every year with the product. The sell sheet for 2019 says that same thing. I don't think a CU logo will go over well in any other product than Topps Now.
