Default Tom Brady card values now?

I'm curious to know what everyone thinks. I've been collecting exclusively patriots the past couple years and as a result I've got quite a few Tom Brady cards. Now that Brady is gone, I'm not exactly sure what I've got here... I certainly feel less connected to whole collection.

Do you think the value of Brady stuff will go up because now there's a new fanbase who wants to collect him? Or go down as patriots fans move on with lots of Brady to sell?

I'm talking about more run of the mill base/inserts/etc.
Less curious about rare rookies, gu, etc. Anything like that I'm keeping no matter what.

Not sure, as a Bucs fan I’m pumped to get some Brady Bucs cards and well as a few of his lower end Pats rookies! But I think he is such a legendary player that his cards won’t go down tremendously in the near future.

Willie Mays ended as a Met. Does anybody really remember? More importantly are his card values hurting?

Unless he wins another Super Bowl with the Bucs his patriots cards will always be worth more. If he wins a Super Bowl with the bucs then at first the bucs cards will go a little higher since it’s the new thing, but ultimately will be about the same after retirement.

I think that’s an important thing to look at. Some others, and who knows how many, probably feel the same so I could see a lot of smaller cards being put up for sale or trade. And with increased supply obviously the prices would soften up, at least in the short term. It’s all guess though. Time will tell.

We just got a huge consignment lot of nice Brady’s in and up on our eBay this week. Will be a good indicator.

Classic Pats fan.

Greatest QB of all time that gets you 6 rings and you're less connected now.

Does anyone have access to look up the current book value for this card? I'd appreciate it!

Yup -- My favorite player is no longer playing for my favorite team. I've built my weekend around watching Brady & the Patriots for 20 years and now this fall that won't be happening. So, yeah. I'm feeling less connection to the team that I love -- kicking the greatest player in franchise history to the curb.
And -- less of a connection to my favorite player, who seems to have jumped ship for more money, which is inconsistent with how he's acted his entire career previous to this.

So its... weird.

It feels like a really nice couple you like breaking up. Not your PARENTS getting a divorce, that's a different story. But a cool uncle and his wife breaking up or a good family friend calling his marriage over.

Sold with 1 bid at $5,000. So either that’s your book value or a fake sale.

Plenty of people love and collect Brady.
Not sure if NFL rules will allow Panini to make anymore cards of him in Patriots gear while he plays for the Bucs. If not and we go two years of no new patriots cards, expect a price increase on all Brady patriots cards regardless of his bucs performance.

Well I didn't say they couldn't dip or even stall for a brief moment. They most certainly could in the short sight especially with a mid season or embarrassing year. BUT if one were buying Brady and has the ability to hold long term you want an embarrassing season as it may trigger the last buying opportunity you'll see.

Once he retires, it's all over. He's already on the moon. He'll be headed into the hall as a patriot and his prices will be headed to the unobtainium regions of Mars. Again, barring an OJ scandal.

Adding: And if he does well with the Bucs? Forget it about! You'll have two franchises of collectors fighting for anything Brady.

Did Tom Brady go to Tampa Bay bc they have the same initials or is it because he's probably a Scientologist now?

Do you see that across the board for all his patriots cards? Base, etc?
Rare items yes I agree. I think everything will peak IF he plays well in Tampa. Then calm down again once he retires. IF he doesn't play well in Tampa, I honestly have no idea. My gut is it all drops. I feel like there are more Patriots collectors than Brady collectors. <-- if you think I'm wrong tell me.

I know when I don't know enough to say "I don't know". With that being said, I don't follow the Brady market closely at all. I'm mainly vintage and dabble in modern baseball, primarily Soto.

I know you can't go wrong with rookie cards and final year cards. I've been following the Lebron thread and seen the emergence of what is referred to "The Laker rookie" which while laughable seems to be holding weight as far as desirability amongst Lakers fans because they've seemed to finally open up and take him in.

As far as my take on anything non-rc related though, I would much rather have a '51 mays in a 5 than a '52 in a 7. Can never go wrong with rookie cards.

I actually got it for the buy it now price. Didn’t want to lose it to auction. $6500, I don’t have access to Beckett’s price guide so I was wondering if anyone could look it up for me.
