Default O’Briens belated response to Hopkins trade

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...-best-interest

Basically said what we already knew he would say, “was best for the team”, yet refused to address the fact that he traded one of the 2 best players on the team for magic beans. His response was, “we think David Johnson can help our football team, and now we have more room to work with the cap moving forward”.

Summary:

He waited over 2 weeks to address the trade after it happened
During this time he stated he wasn’t talking about it because he didn’t want to
He didn’t answer why he accepted a trade for noticeably less value than he gave

He acts and sounds like a dictator, doesn’t feel he needs to comunícate reasons for his choices, and has proven to the world his is incompetent with his responsibilities.

Is this the general view from the community here as well, or am I just a sore Texans fan who needs to wait to see the product this season before I judge?

I’d no longer follow the Texans if I was a fan.

Can we trade the coach/gm? Perhaps we can receive a 7th round compensatory pick for him.

He wanted more money with 3 years left on his deal.
He made it known he didn't want to be there.
Bad relationship between coach and player.

It makes more sense that he's gone now. But they should of gotten more in return.

See, the only quotes about any of that have come from sources near the team, and all after the fact. They smell of "We gotta make this look good."

The bad relationship was caused BY the coach (and by far from the first time -- this is at least the fifth player who has left because of it, and at least the 2nd shitty trade because of it).

No where has he ever said he didn't want to be there -- unless, again, it was because of the coach. Again. #@#@#@#@ BoB.

he's a terrible coach, period.

have always said that about him. he's like Jay Gruden...they've got no business being head coaches, honestly.

coordinators yes, but not head coaches.

That’s why fans are so upset. It’s not that he traded Hopkins. It’s that he traded him and got half value in return. If it was our 4th string WR then no real fuss, but that’s not the case. You can’t make a trade with a player of his magnitude and get in return half of what you should have got. What we got back is not remotely close to what we gave, so O’Brien is either he’s over emotional and doesn’t fit the position or he’s incompetent and should be fired. Either way you look at this he failed miserably, and his lack of action to address his actions makes it even worse.
