Default Shipping qualm

If you are a seller and I purchase 6 different auctions, please don’t ship my orders in two sleeves and one top loader. That is all.

How much were the total value of the cards? Did you get combined shipping?

If they are like a 1$ cards, i wouldn't be surprised. The way fee's , shipping, and other cost are now a days, those .25 cent top loaders add up. Or the thick top loaders that are like .50-.75 cents.

Or were the cards not properly secured in the large top loader?

I don’t see a problem with that at all. Packed properly that can be a very safe and efficient way to ship.

Depending on value I don't see an issue with it except for every card should be at least penny sleeved. Also depends on the sellers combined shipping rates. If he charged you extra per item that should go to the cost of the extra top loaders and such. If they charge a flat rate or free shipping then it goes back to item ccost.

If you are not posting your Ebay ID how can any seller know who you are so they can make sure they follow your rules?

I don’t usually purchase $1 cards. Most of my purchases are in the $20-$100 range. I am willing to pay extra for proper shipping. Sliding 3-4 cards in a sleeve is not the answer.

I’ve also seen instances where a seller has combined 6 different purchases (about 30 cards)- no sleeves, no top loaders, just sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard and placed in an regular envelope. All the cards were damaged.

Which I agree. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always happen.

I agree. I brought this topic up because it happens all to often. If I spend $150 with a seller, I shouldn’t have to overly inspect my purchase because of poor shipping practices regardless of shipping fees. This has happen with free shipping, combined shipping as well as up to $20 in shipping fees. I wouldn’t mind it if they would at least penny sleeve EACH purchase. I’m not even talking about multiple items in a single auction, just different auctions. Meaning I would be more acceptable to 10 cards in a single auction being shipped in this manner, but multiple auctions of single cards in the price range of $20-50? That’s an issue for me.

Never said anything about eBay. I’m talking about purchases in general.

Like everything else, the exceptions ruin it. Get sleeves, toploaders, bubble wrap and 6x6x6 boxes—all available at retail. I have no evidence but I bet some people get repeat business just because they ship things properly.

Exactly. I’ve purchased from some sellers over 20 different times over the years because of the way they conduct business (even if they are slightly higher than the next person). Cutting corners is a poor business practice.

I hate saying this, but I have a recent purchase that is worse, Kenflin.

Seller shipped a relatively short-printed card, paid $60, in a cut up side-loading binder page with a ROUNDED left bottom corner. Needless to say, that corner was damaged significantly. Due to that rounded corner, the card did not even fit the binder page properly. The entire right edge had extensive wear. The card itself got creased as well. No penny sleeve, no top loader, no pieces of cardboard.

Shipping was "free". You can see what that got me.

This was a card worth more than I paid for it, and was going into my PC. Right now, it is a virtually useless piece of cardboard. Worst card packaging I have ever seen.

Will be returning the card for a full refund.

I've seen a similar situation like this as well, lol. No sleeve, no top loader. Just placed in a PWE. Good luck with your situation.

I had 15 low end Giannis Rookies I bought arrive with NO penny sleeves. Lol. Just bare in toploaders. A $1000ish order. Somehow someway they weren't actually damaged though so I didn't mention it. I have people send without sleeves on FB from time to time but normally more low-end $40 stuff so I simply block those guys on FB after and never deal with them again. But yes put your cards in damn penny sleeves people. This is becoming way too common. It's not hard to penny sleeve.

I agree. If there isn't any damage, I don't bring it up either. It's just happening more and more. Sleeves are not expensive.

I don't care how much the cost of toploaders are, if you can afford to buy and sell cards, you can afford to take care of them. If you want to use your PC to prop up a wobbly table, that's your deal, but if you're selling cards to others please treat them with respect!

I like to use a wooden box to prop up my cards.

A reference to when times was nice before the virus.

Even if there is no damage, I see nothing wrong with passing on tactful helpful advice...sadly I have had only the chance to do this when a card comes damaged

I wish others could understand this concept.
