Panini no longer accepting expire redemptions?

Just posted by their @PaniniCSM Twitter this morning. Very very disappointing and something they really need to let everyone know, especially breakers. Hopefully they make some clarification. What they had been doing with expired redemptions is accepting them and if they have the card, fulfill it and if not give points. Now if you can't get anything at all, that's crazy. That would really affect prices for older product too.

I pulled a gold /10 Curry auto expired and got f-ing points. So lame but better then nothing.

If it’s expired, what is the issue? Don’t they give like 2 years or something before it expires? Redemptions suck to begin with. Just don’t buy products with expired redemptions going forward. They were being nice doing them in the past anyways.

They've established a precedent where they have accepted them, and at least provided some compensation for them.

To make an 'official' change to that precedent with no warning is a dick move, and I wouldn't expect any less from them. They could have released a statement that said 'effective May 1st we will no longer honor expired redemptions' and given people a chance to react.

Can you imagine how swamped they would be? Seems like a lot of work for no benefit. Theyre still going to sell out of everything.

This sucks. I was ok waiting for redemptions for as long as it took, but to not honor them, and not deliver on them is not cool.

this is my sentiment. They went from honor ANY expired redemption to no expired redemptions, is a bit ridiculous

Exactly...there was absolutely no warning or communication that this change in their policy was coming.

What did you expect from this company? They’ve been terrible for years. People being shocked by this is pretty funny. Redemptions should never exist. If they can’t get autos in time to pack them out then they won’t have autos. It’s that simple.

If you’re going to complain about these things, then Buy singles people or buy boxes to flip to buy more singles. Quit wasting your hard earned money on breaks and opening wax. The majority will lose. If you like opening boxes, continue but do not complain. They do not care about collectors, only making money.

People might want to be a little more careful about the wax they're stashing now. Can you imagine if Zion was a redemption in NT? I'm sure Panini will do everything to prevent that from happening, but this kind of scenario is bound to happen at some point.

They need to print expiration dates for redemption cards clearly on the product. Ideally, it'd be right under where they state the amount of guaranteed hits. This is such a tool move, but since when has any of these companies really cared about their customers?

Dang that's big, that was one advantage Panini had over Topps with the expired redemption being honored. This is very disappointing if true.

This is 100% a financial/accounting thing. If they leave redemption open, they have to account for still owing the customer something.

Once had this with a vendor we work with. We had comp codes with no expiry that we would use for certain purposes on our end. They cut them off because it created a mess for them still owing us fulfillment of the codes. Instead we would periodically get codes with a 1 yr expiry.

Sucks for this though. Last I redeemed a Terry Porter on card redemption from 2013 that I just pulled in a MJ Holdings box.
