Default How do people buy/sell cards on Instagram?

A lot of people say they buy/sell on IG.

Do people do a search on Instagram for cards and make offers?

I guess there are hashtags. Like this one.

#baseballcardsforsale

https://www.instagram.com/explore/ta...lcardsforsale/

Not sure how to search an account though for specific cards.

Sometimes people search the hashtags and DM offers. I’ve sold a few this way without problem, so that saves a little $$ from eBay fees.

I've gotten a wing sauce coupon on instagram, turned out to be legit. Never bought cards though.

As an example,

On Instagram, how would you go about looking for James Harden cards?

Would you use something like:

#jameshardencards or
#jameshardenpanini or
#jameshardenprizm or
#jameshardenrookiecards

Thank you

You need to create an account and start following everyone that has anything to do with what you want to buy. It takes a while but then you can start seeing who flips, who breaks, and who collects PC. Then you will find the psychotic collectors with amazing and massive collections. They can be extremely helpful and are usually somewhat wise. I recently found a seller/collector on there who has helped with some recent buys. And yes, search those hashtags but that always seemed like a terrible hunt.

Hello BTown,

Thank you for the reply. I guess the one key suggestion
"follow everyone" was something that I was hesitant about doing,
but I guess that will unlock many doors.

Thank you again.

I would say, you probably have to follow a lot of other Card accounts, use certain hashtags and such, see lots of messages on FB about guys selling on IG as well...

How do you conduct the transaction so it is safe for both parties?

Seems like there could be a lot of scammers on IG.

there are scammers everywhere. instagram is no different. I would say. you want to see who you are dealing with by checking out their Ebay I'd and reading feedback they get and what they leave. . you can check facebook scammer page where you can run names and email address through the database to see if they are a serial scammer. also, use paypal good and services when dealing with anyone you do not trust 100%. End of day, not even Ebay is 100% scam free if someone wanted to screw you over.

if you try myslabs, they vet all their buyers and sellers and manage everyone who is allowed to buy and sell, and again nothing is 100% scam free but having them personally vet out bad apples helps reduce issues from occurring.

As for scammers IG and other platforms have their fair share of them. Always of course use PayPal G/S but still use your best common sense. If you do not feel comfortable with something regardless if you're covered do not do the deal. I haven't bought anything or sold anything that I recall on IG but I did have a IG card account for quite a while. Twitter is a little more personable for card sales but there are good people on all platforms just make sure you deal with people who hopefully have a proven track record.
