I would rather take my $400 and put it towards the card(s) I want. I quit buying boxes a loooong time ago after realizing I could come out cheaper buying the cards I want for my PCs versus how much I was spending annually on boxes. I also understand the thrill and gamble side of buying boxes. Dropping $400 and pulling a monster could pay off greatly. But Im not chancing my money against the odds.

lol not a chance it is. Zero football boxes are worth opening what the market is for them. ZERO. This in terms of cost and value. If it's for fun and maybe get a cool card for the PC? By all means, whatever floats your boat.
Pay $250 for a hobby box of 2019 Certified, or go buy a Kyler Murray patch auto for under $200? Or a low numbered parallel for under $300? I think what is hurting the costs of these the most is the breakers, because they can sell a case for whatever amount, it doesn't matter to them. Case of Optic for $3,600? Raise the price to $4,800, split it between 32 teams, it's $150 a pop. You have gamblers out there willing to spend $150 to get a Phillip Rivers parallel, than spend $300 to get an entire box of contents.

I loath contenders. Hobby really could be a one or two pack product, and retail is basically paying $20 for a memorabilia card.
I think the older boxes were not quite as terrible, as it seemed like they at least threw in more numbered, but not super limited cards Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk |

Of course it's worth it! The last 2019-20 Contenders Draft Basketball box was auctioned for $230 2 days ago. There are are bunch of buy it now listings $240-$265. So who wouldn't be willing to pay around $350 for a box of 2020 Contenders Draft Football?!? Everyone knows that Burrow and Tua sell for so much more than Zion and Ja Morant.

The lowest price that Panini have on the dutch auction for the FOTL was $120 no way you should buy it at that $400 price. Buy singles instead.
