Default Unreleased Action Packed HOF Gold Parallel Autos found on storage locker (Not Mine)

Just had to share this. Found this eBay listing and it got me excited. I don't know the seller/owner of the cards.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1995-Action...wAAOSwcFJe0WX-

Apparently they found unreleased Gold Parallels of 1995 Action Packed HOF Autos on a storage locker just last month, May 2020.

Some of you might know that I collect autographs of many Hall of Famers. Because of that, the 1995 Action Packed HOF Autos is one of my favorite sets because it is one of the earliest NBA licensed autograph sets, and contain the first autos of big-name HOFers like Russell, Cousy, Pettit, Barry, Hayes, and more.

Some info on this set:
  • The base set has fascimile gold foil autos.
  • There is a 24KT Gold parallel of the base set that has more gold foil on the borders and red foil facsimile signatures.
  • The autograph version looks like the base set but has an authentic auto in silver paint instead of the gold foil facsimile.
  • There was no released 24KT Gold parallel for the autos, and no 24KT Gold parallels without the red foil facsimile before this find.

So far I have only seen the Bill Russell posted on eBay, but they say they found 22 other players and coaches on the same storage locker. (Picture credits to the listing owner)

So, have any of you gotten a hold of any of these cards yet? I would love to see more of them.

sorry, but ugly card and the auto looks rough (not saying it's fake, but it doesn't look great). and can you imagine the work it would take to convince the next buyer that it's real and worth something when you go to sell or trade down the road?

The beauty of slabbing a card....

His plan to slow bleed them out to the market is genius, though. What a great storage locker buy.

The eBay listing shows they had some of the cards (and maybe all of them) certified by JSA. That should be a pretty big help.

The signatures are bad on a lot of these because I believe the player photo is raised and glossy while thr backgrounds were more of a "dull" finish

That's so awesome! I love these kinds of stories. Some of my favorite Dominique Wilkin cards are insanely rare and I didn't know about them until wellllll after they were released!!!

I imagine the “only” people buying these are collectors who already know what they are and the rough design won’t matter much if at all.

Cool ass find.

You are right, and it's actually one of the things that actually appeals to me on this kinds of sets. These early auto sets get underestimated because the first impression is usually that the aesthetics are not on par with the current standards. But when you dig deeper on their story and their significance on the hobby history, you will usually find diamonds in the rough.

That's one hell of a find. I remember Action Packed being an extremely high-end product (mainly in football) when I was a kid. Still holds a fair amount of sentimental value to me.

Nice. But I wouldn’t be in a rush to drop $700 on a listing with a stock photo, where they get to choose which card they send you.

Are these the cards I seen on a Pawnstars episode?

I would think they were with the stories matching up. Cool addition to a collection.

I prefer my toilet paper without silver ink.
