Because Gary's buddy Jason at Otia sports has been stockpiling them. That one social media post sure helped him out this week.

That’s the answer going forward to every thread

seems like thats the easy answer for 90% of the time anyone sees anything pump - how can one person have that much influence over an entire hobby?

Welcome to 2020

It isn’t going to change

People found a completely unregulated industry with deep pockets... and people love sports (and nostalgia)

It’s a license to pump and dump, launder, and just be the Wild West

There's been no NBA basketball, we've known Booker can score since forever, so what else could be the driving force? I'm gonna put my money on Sheeps

This is dee wae.

Slanging high grade Booker bass sure beats trying to smuggle half a brick across state lines.

This is almost literally the same thing as pumping Jimmy Jackson back in 1994. A guy with gaudy offensive stats, bad defense and plays on a bad team. Zach LaVine might be a better player than Booker and his prices are waaaaay less then Booker’s.

1) Rich guy with a big sheep following finds an all star type and out of the current eye player whose card market isn't currently hot (this is the key...)
2) Rich guy scoops up a ton of base and/or silver prizm (easiest to liquidate...could be another card type if that player didn't have a prizm rc - topps for example with kevin durant)
3) Rich guy makes a post on his social media platforms
4) Sheep buy and inflate the prices
5) Rich guy dumps on his followers
6) Profit $$$

It is so damn frustrating. It’s also pathetically predictable.

he's being pumped cause gary v bought all the best bookers about 6 months ago n has them all back from grading, hence- its time to blow up the hype n he can sell em for a multiplier.

he makes money by doing things, then talking about it after as being a smart idea. then all the sheep see it n go, whoa Booker it is! n overpay to take his bleeding edge advice. little do they know this redundant now for anything more the setting a new sell price to capitalise on stuff you bought months ago.

that's how he makes money in this.

not by posting months ago - new idea, have zero bookers, imma buy right now! n pushing the cheaper buy price up..... the way people follow this guy like he's a savant on cards, no.

Gary Pee is a fraud. This tiny bastard inherited a wine business from his father that generated $3,000,000/year. Guy started from 3rd base and his daddy hit a home run for him. Now he's telling everyone how easy it is to play baseball lol. What a weasel.

If you have the patience, just wait until everyone catches on to the grift in a couple of years and then you can scoop them up cheap. Not that it matters, because in a few years Bookers will always be cheap forever more.

I couldn’t agree more. I’m primarily a UK collector and haven’t bought much of his because of the prices. He’s fun to watch but in a few years once the potential of being a star is gone and everybody realizes he’s just a pretty good player I’ll be buying like crazy.

Not a huge fan of Booker’s game but he’s definitely better than LaVine.

Long-term I don’t think either will hold too much hobby value.
