Default Effa Manley

Found an article on Effa Manley recently posted to ESPN. She was co-owner of the Newark Eagles, business manager of the team, treasurer of the local NAACP Chapter, played an integral role in baseball integration, and the sole woman in the MLB HOF. Really interesting woman and rarely talked about.

I looked on eBay looking for a baseball card of hers but I'm surprised to find that nothing is really out there.

Just thought I'd share.

She only has a handful of cards >> https://www.comc.com/Cards,so,i100,=effa+manley

These two and a numbered plaque card from the Cooperstown set.

She also has a playing card in the 1996 Legends of the Negro Leagues set but they aren't easy to find.

On the autograph side-
For someone who passed in the 1980's (1981), her autograph is extremely rare. When she moved from Newark to California, she left behind a file cabinet full of rare, important and valuable documents that were fortunately donated to the Newark public library, instead of tossed. I was fortunate to pick up her autograph in a private transaction about 5 years ago.

Oh wow, that's awesome. I looked for her autographs too. They're tough to come by.

It's a really neat set. I've been trying to put one together off and on for a decade or more. I've still never seen the Effa Manley card.
