I'm trying to understand the football market a bit more and am wondering where Spectra ranks in the pecking order among Panini products.
I understand that Prizm/Optic/Select/Contenders are probably the top tier among the non-highend sets, but I was wondering if I could set some help in learning what's next, and where Spectra in particular falls. Also, just for fun, what is generally considered Panini's least liked football release? Thanks

Spectra is definitely a niche product.
It probably comes the closest to recapturing that 90s neon insert vibe, but there's still a nostalgia gap between Spectra and those cards. So some collectors really dig the over-the-top eye-catching designs while others think its a bit gaudy. Plus the neon ink autographs can be really hard to read. I wouldn't bust it for its long-term value, but they do look cool in a player collection and there are some inserts sets like that Hall of Fame autos that are universally loved and could have some serious long-term value. |

It's topps equivalent is Bowman Sterling. I don't see much of a long term value other than the superbowl auto set.

Spectra is my favorite non top tier. It's not top tier but for me its first in line after tier 1. I think the on card autos are just amazing, even though lately I see a bunch of stickers. The older spectra had a lot of on card autos that I own

Spectra is great for singles. However I prefer Obsidian these days.

At first I didn't like the thickness of the inserts but now I really appreciate the eye appeal, especially the die-cuts.

Outstanding “superfractor swirl” on the 1/1s and brilliant use of patches for the SSP stuff. Thickness, rainbow opportunity and inventive backgrounds (marble, nebula, etc) make it fun and “less typical” for a collector.....especially a player collector.

Finest for looks I guess but the pack format with expensive multiple hit packs is more Bowman Sterling. If you busted Sterling or Spectra you end up with a ton of hits but the box was so expensive 9/10 you don't make jack squat in return.

I love the Spectra parallels. I bought up some low #'d Brady,Gronk and Edelman's for the PC. I like the colors, especially with Brady in his Color Rush uni. Maybe it's a girl thing, but a little gaudy is okay with me.
