Default My 1988 Fleer Problem!

I keep on finding beautiful Dennis Rodman rookies to buy on ebay. The one's pictured below are going to PSA, but didn't make the top 3 cut I already sent to PSA. Whenever I see a centered Rodman with sharp edges in ebay listings for under $30, I have to buy. I need to stop! I have spent about $250 on 9 Rodman rookies in the past month. It is almost a joke in my house. My wife brought up the mail to me today and she said your Rodman and Yount rookies are here. The 1975 Robin Yount is also an obsession for me. I have purchased 10 of those for about $250 as well! Is there any cards that you can't stop buying?

1997 SP Authentic Michael Jordan base (bass) card. About 60 raw, 5 PSA 9s and a 10. Four still at PSA. Two at BGS.

Just got two in the mail today.

Seems like a cheap obsession but I REALLY overpaid for the 10.

Sounds more like you have a weird obsession for Dennis Rodman than 1988 Fleer

He was one of my favorite players, miss the old defensive basketball days. I also have 8 Miller's, 12 Stockton's, and 3 Pippen's from that set. I just have better look visually picking out the better Rodman's from ebay. I don't have any Jordan's from that set and probably never will. Buying raw third year Jordan cards for $60 is just insane to me.

Nice, Im a big Rodman fan. I have a pic of me as a kid with Rodman when he had green hair, from his playing days when he was in his prime.

For me its been Mosaic Ja Morant base rookies. Been buying them for a month straight. Was a buyers market from all of the Mosaic that got ripped retail. Prices have started to climb now.

I am only planning on keeping one of my Rodman's for the long term. I have two cards which I think are PSA 10 worthy and if one comes back as a 10 that will be my personal collection card and the rest I will sell or trade. I recently did buy two 1996 Upper Deck Kobe's, my first ever Kobe card. Bought one at $15 and I saw one for $15 and I offered $8 to see if I could get it at $10. However, the person accepted at $8.

BTW, just lost a last second bid on another Rodman. However, got a centered Miller with one edge that isn't cut great. However, finding a centered Miller is VERY difficult. Probably the hardest to find in the set IMO.

I did the same thing with the 88 Fleer Jordans #17 and #120. There’s just something about a sharp centered copy, something extra pops with the visual appeal. Its funny because I think they can look so ugly with the centering, edge and surface issues! I want nothing to do with an off-centered copy but can’t resist buying a centered copy.

The set has got to be one of the greatest of all time! But be careful...the disease spreads to the 87 set and will come to full fruition with the 87-89 sticker sets. Centered, mint copies are just fantastic cards.

I almost bought a few 1987 cards, but I resisted somehow! I decided to go a cheaper route with a personal collection. My favorite player growing up was Rik Smits. Just noticed he has a bunch of cards out right now. I HATE sticker autos, but I just bought a few on card auto cards on ebay. Spending $5-$15 on per card in a personal collection won't be bad. May have to spend $40 on some of his 1/3 type cards though. I have a few of his Marist College basketball books signed. So I think it will be a neat personal collection to start. Plus I have all his rookies and some refractors and first day issue cards laying around!

Rooted hard for Rik back in the day! “THE SHOT!” One of the best endings to one of the greatest playoff games I’ve ever watched! Would make for a GREAT PC.
