Default Need some Rookie advice

I am not to familiar with Bkb cards I mostly fo NHL AND NFL. I started picking up RCs and Parallels of ISAIAH ROBY. Is he someone I can expect something from or is he gonna be a 6th man type player? Obviously anyone can breakout but hows his potential? I dont know what to look for in scouting reports that translate to a hobby stud

Very little shot of making it onto the Thunder roster in the next year or so. He's been on the bench for their G League team.

Thanks guys. Good thing i got most of his base and parallels at <$1. I guess that should have been a clue. It all started cause I mixed him up with Coby White (dont ask lol) thought I was gonna cash in buying silver Prizm at $0.95....

I've never seen a scouting report, not sure I'd know what to look for if I ever saw one. I watch them play the game (nba league pass and youtube) - that is how I get an idea if I think a player has a big future. Most times, I'm wrong, so I rarely go for those complete unknowns. I go for those players that others are already prospecting so if I'm wrong I have a chance of reselling and recouping some of my funds. But it's not just picking the right prospects, it's also good to know which card sets hold a premium. For non-auto and non-memorabilia cards, I'd start with Prizm and Optic. There are some other really nice card sets I like such as Revolution and Court Kings. If you want the holy grails, then National Treasures true RPA's (Rookie Patch Auto's) are the bomb, but you'll need to take out a 2nd mortgage on your house to get into those. Good luck. NBA is worldwide, man. World-f'ing-wide.

Doesn't really even have much of a shot at an NBA roster. Likely won't even be in the NBA in 3-4 years.

It's unlikely he'll be relevant, but you never know. Look at Devonte Graham this year.

I don't watch a lot of college ball but I was in Chicago last year for the Big10 tourney and was thoroughly unimpressed by Roby. Was surprised later on when I found out the guy even made an NBA team

Wow, of all the rookies this year, you picked the absolute worst one...what luck!

When I'm breaking I always say to myself...please "no Roby, no Roby"!
