Default 2003 LeBron James question.....

Hello, so I have a 2003 topps full set (sealed) and my question is should a take out the James and get it graded or keep the set sealed... So what would be better for the long term?

I’m kinda new to basketball cards and need a opinion!

Thanks in advance!!

He's referring to the Bron and the cash bribe.

I have opened two of these factory sets. The Lebron card is the very first card on one side of the box. So be careful when removing the cards from the box. I wish Lebron would have been placed somewhere in the middle of the box as the card would have been better protected there. Even still, your biggest barrier to successfully grading the card will probably be centering. I just got a 9 on one of the cards from these sets. Unless you get really unlucky you will probably get a card that grades at least an 8 from these sets. So you have to weigh the risk/reward of opening the set and getting an 8 vs. a 9 or 10. Obviously if you get a 10 (I did previously) you win big opening the set. If you get a 9 you probably win slightly and if you get an 8 you lose slightly. I actually think factory sets in general are some of the best ways to rip. It is not as fun as wax because the only mystery is the condition of the cards you're getting, but the return is way better. Good luck.

Keep it sealed. The centering in the factory sets sucked. I know.

Premiums to be had, especially when you consider how many sets are even left from this product? Not many guaranteed LBJ rookies coming out of stuff........

Thanks for your input! I’m probably going to keep it sealed, I don’t like taking risks haha!
