Default Pokemon Champions Path

Not sure how many people on here do Pokemon, but some big news today!

Set list revealed, and it includes the Rainbow rare Charizard VMAX aswell as a shiny Charizard V!

Pretty big confirmations for the set!

Had to go out and scoop up more Elite Trainer Boxes before they shoot up in price.

Anyone else here getting in on Champions Path?

Yeah man I can't wait to chase this! I am just assuming the ETBs will be available in stores and be a big chase. Is that a safe assumption? I see BO has these pre-selling for $90.

When is the release date? Do the ETBs hit retail the same time booster boxes are available?

I’m sure there will be some in stores, but like you said, it will be a race to get it. All MSRP trainer boxes sold out a LONG time ago. Honestly not sure how many will make it to the shelves.

Blowouts prices are a little high right now, but eventually I think that EBay will begin to get closer to Blowouts prices. A lot of people are buying right now after the news broke out in hopes it’s the next hidden fates. Exciting times for sure.

Release date 9/25. This is a special set like Hidden Fates where there are no booster boxes. The only way to get the packs is the ETB, and the various special collection boxes.

I'd be surprised if plenty don't make it to the shelves. I see a ton of ETBs on the shelves. Of course, with this one, just going to have to get lucky. But, I figure better odds of finding this than any popular sports release.

I take it all of the special collection boxes will be worth it as well if you can find them at MSRP? Those will have the same packs as the ones in the ETBs right?

Yeah I think the special collection boxes may be a little underrated. The exclusive cards in them aren’t the best, but if you are buying strictly to open packs, they may be the best.

And yes, all the packs are the same, or at least I haven’t heard anything that has been said otherwise. The ETB has just got people going crazy since it’s Charizard.

Thank you! Just getting my feet wet in Pokémon. Hit the charizard vmax in DA and now I’m hooked.

Awesome! Yeah it’s a fun alternative, since sports cards are way too expensive to open anything.

So the ETB is preselling for ~$75 or $7.50 a pack. The collectors edition is selling for $50 or $6.25 a pack. Seems like a pretty good deal. Am I missing something?

Yeah I think just on a per pack basis, the collection boxes in general seem a better deal if you can't find the ETBs in-store at MSRP. But, I didn't buy the $50 collection box. I bought the $15 one that has 3 packs for $5 a pack. That is basically same cost as if you were to buy the ETB in-store at $50 since it has 10 packs (for 5 a pack). The collection box that is $50 doesn't seem worth it unless you think the other stuff beyond the packs is worth the extra cost.

Good call on the 3pks. Will probably preorder some. I’m hopeful to find some ETBs at retail. Pokémon stuff doesn’t get sold in my parts. This one might be different though.

It is 3 packs that comes in a variety of different collection boxes that you can pre-order. These will be in-store, presumably at both Target and Wally and other stores as well.

There are no 36 booster pack boxes for this release. Maybe you're referring to the Darkness Ablaze release, not Champion's Path?

The other format beyond the collection boxes for this release will be the Elite Trainer Boxes.

I don't know what you're referring to. Can you shed some more details? You can't just buy individual booster packs of this that I'm aware of. If you could, I'd say that would be the same price per pack that you're getting in the collection boxes and the ETBs if you find them in-store. There are some additional items in the collector boxes and ETBs though so those would still be a better deal than 36 booster packs for $180.

Interesting, thanks. I see that now. I still don't think it's worth it. Would rather buy the sealed collection box (or ETB in-store) containing the packs for the same per pack price. I think MSRP on just an individual booster pack by itself is normally $4. So, presumably these booster packs will be available in-store individually at $4 each as well.

Looks like dealers are selling 36 loose packs and labeling it as a booster box.

Yeah, they just open the collector boxes and take the packs out and sell them in 36 pack lots.
