Default The grail insert/parallels of the 90's

Curious what other people feel are the grail insert/parallels of the 90's.

All the other sports have the common usual suspects have like Essential credentials, Mirror Gold, PMGs, Crusades,

I'd know Mirror Platinum/30's are ones that would be on any short list..... Mirror Gold doenst seem to carry the same weight.

but yeah obviously a LOT different for hockey in many aspects but what are the ones that make you feel that way for hockey?

1997 Donruss Preferred Precious metals are pretty cool- a gram of .999 pure gold or platinum went into each card. Production run was 100 each of 10 different players. I opened a boatload of boxes of this stuff and only ever got one- a Joe Sakic Platinum. Sold it earlier this year for $300USD.
The 1997 Pinnacle Zenith Z-Golds /100 are also a really tough pull and are very sought after.
I got really lucky and pulled a Luc Robitaille out of a handful of packs I picked up at a dollar store 15 years ago. It sat in my $5 stars box at shows untouched then earlier this year when i got more active on eBay i decided to throw it up. I knew next to nothing about them and couldn't find much sales history so another member suggested I list it "on the high side for $125 OBO" and see what happens. I instead listed it for $270 USD OBO and it sold that same afternoon for full ask. The buyer was over the moon ecstatic. I think I left some money on the table with that one! Oh well, $5 CDN at the dollar store so I think I did alright.

Pinnacle EPIX Moments Emeralds are a hot item and look like the KABOOM! basketball and football cards.

I also like the 97-98 Leaf Star Factor Limited Exposure refractors. No serial # but rumor is the print run is 25.

98 Donruss Elite Craftsmen are also cool /100

I agree on everything listed here, and would add the 97/98 SPX DuoView Autographs to the list, as well as Donruss Limited Fabric of the Game Legendary Materials.

The first card that popped into my head was the 1998-99 UD Starquest Gold parallel /100. Those go for sick money.

7 different. Gretzky, Roy, Iginla, Shanahan, Roenick, Vanbiesbrouck, and Blake. Yea, I would love it if there was a Lemieux.

All the other sports had grand finales as well. A jordan sold last month for 42k.

Those pics are the same card. pics can be very deceptive with this set,
a regular gold can easily be mistaken for grand finale in the right lighting even though it is a very distinct difference in person.

Probstein listed the Roy I believe you got as a gold initially. Almost cost that owner a whole lot of money.

I didn't pull the trigger on a BIN for $150 a couple years ago bc I thought that was too high. My how I was wrong, but was lucky to pick up a 90's heavy Roy collection 6 months ago that had one.

Yup, thats the one i was referring to. I was hesitant because one of the corners was damaged.

Unfortunately my copy has a surface crease on the back of the card, but I'm happy to just own one at this point.

Yea, I mean conditions are tough especially for a 23 year old set. My Gretzky and Roy are in immaculate condition but my Blake has a faded hologram and the Vanbiesbrouck has an altered corner. At this point, I take what I can get as long as the price reasonable.

"The Stanley Cup Hologram card that was inserted into Pro Set."

I can't believe people on ebay are asking between $1k-2k for that card. There are 5000 so I'm not sure how that could be.

1995-96 Topps finest. Gold, Silver and Bronze refractors were crazy.

Market heating up a bit.

1998-99 Bowman's Best Refractor Wayne Gretzky in PSA 10 went for $307 last night. Not sure if the sale is legit but that is always a good thing.
