Ripped 4 Allen and Ginter Rip Cards - Pretty Big Card in one of them

Quick story. Back in like 2015 I had I think four rip cards. One night I got a little tipsy and ripped them. Nothing good came out of them. So, I swore off ripping.

Fast forward to tonight. I own(ed) five unripped rip cards.

2012 Ty Cobb /10
2018 Javy Baez /50
2019 Lindor /75
2020 Ernie Banks
2020 Rod Carew

I had a feeling about the Carew and I decided I was going to rip the Carew and ONLY the Carew.

I ripped it got a Lindor EXT. I took that as a sign from the card gods to rip the Lindor. So I ripped the Lindor and got a Pujols EXT.

Well. Now I got the fever so I rip the Baez and get a Harper EXT.

At this point I'm thinking my luck can't be THAT bad. So I rip the Banks and get the card in the pictures below.

Unfortunately it came out damaged. Not only does the top right corner have a ding, but the entire front of the card basically has trackmarks from the rip tab. None of my dang EXTs came out even remotely damaged, but of course the monster came out pretty effing horribly damaged.

Ah well. I wasn't gonna sell it anyway.

As for the 2012 Cobb /10. That one is remaining unripped.

EDIT: Couldn't resist ripping the Cobb. Got a Robinson Cano wood mini. Wish I woulda had the card and ripped it back in 2012.

Topps should be able to do something to replace it, a lot of the ones from this year they ruined the minis like that with the rip strip

Good to know. Thanks. I just sent them an email about it. I've never needed to replace something. I would only want to do it if I got the same card back.

I have serious doubts you’d get the same card back. To rare. You never know though

I think that Topps would have to replace the Trout with something of comparable value. That's a darn shame though. What a great card.

I think based on how limited the Red Auto’s are you will Unfortunately probably not get an exact replacement.

Either way you own a seriously nice card, and would be nice for anyone’s PC!

I was thinking the same thing. I'd rather keep the damaged Trout. It's still an awesome card.

I'm surprised I did. But no regrets. Something changed in me last night. Now I'm all about ripping rip cards.

I'm not planning on selling it at the moment. They still look cool in toploaders even after ripping.

Bang! Great decision to keep ripping. Might as well reach out to Topps and see if they can replace with another copy of that. Bummer it's damaged, I'm with you on wanting to keep it anyways if you can't get it re-made

It wouldn't surprise me if Topps kept an undamaged Trout red ink mini. It is worth reaching out to them for sure.

I bought what I think Blowoutcards shop said was the last case of A&G. Fun set, plus the sale price on their site was less than MSRP / Topps.com price per hobby box.
I'm opening the 2nd box and pulled a Yordan Alvarez rip 16/99 and am in the same position...could rip it and pull "junk," but I also pulled a 1/1 Yordan Gold Label Gold Prospects relic in one of four Gold Label boxes I bought...hoping it's a sign to rip it, but the anxiety of ripping to find an extended base is killer.

Anybody know what metal they used for the metal cards? If it's not ferrous then no way to tell if I have a mini-metal lol.

And after a quick eBay search and seeing your pull, there are at least 3/10 Trout mini red signatures already ripped...

Man. Looks like your case is off to a great start.

I actually took advantage of the sale as well and bought four boxes of ginter as well as some other stuff. Won't arrive 'til Tuesday though.

It's def a bit nerve-wracking to rip... but dang is it fun.

My brother (SteveIsLegend on here) definitely reads up on the boxes/cases a lot more than I do...from what he said, the collation was bad this year and the numbers through 5 boxes agree there. I really just want that Desus & Mero dual auto lol.
