Yes, they are allowing us to submit without Card Savers, but I believe their intent was that you'd send in toploaders instead. I don't know for sure, but I can't imagine that they'd appreciate having to deal with cards that had only penny sleeves as protection.

It might be a nice change of pace for them. When I send cards, I package them like they need to survive a nuclear blast.

I'm subbing as much as I can now since I have boxes and boxes of old top loaders that I want to use. Once they say no more, then I will go back to Card Savers!

Maybe it's just me as a set builder who likes to keep things in standard 200/400/800 ct boxes, but I've never understood the appeal of Card Savers over regular top-loaders. Do people just use them because of the grading companies? I'm always more worried that I'll damage a card trying to get it into or especially out of a Saver vs a top-loader and penny sleeve, though maybe I'm the only one not working with a grading company who actually takes cards out of Savers!

People are about to go in on you for scotch tape lol. Blue Painter's Tape is the way to go.

Don’t use scotch tape, not secure enough, go with packing tape.

People may not complain to you in person or leave negative comments, but as a person who is trying to get scotch tape off the toploader I definitely get upset! Please use blue painters tape if you sell cards in toploaders if you don't have team bags. PLEASE!

If PSA can damage my cards that are in card savers, I'm sure you will regret sending them in penny sleeves. Keep in mind they are handled by multiple parties, including the verification stage where they have cheap labor rifle through your cards to verify/edit the submission list. Yikes.

My advice is if you use toploaders, I would buy team bags in bulk. You can find them on ebay for about 2 to 3 cents a piece. I don't trust toploaders and penny sleeves alone. They will slide out.
Two questions for everyone. Have people sent PSA cards in yellowed old toploaders? Second question is do people use the post-it page markers on the penny sleeves so it is easier for the handlers to get your cards out?

I use scotch tape on my top loaders but I dog ear one side first so they are easy to grab and pull off. I still use a team bag in addition just in case.

I send cheap cards with a piece of regular tape on the toploader.
It makes me happy knowing I’m driving a bunch of ocd cheapskates nuts . Guy complained about it once to me. He unknowingly made my day . |
