Default Can panini resolve a card damage issue out of a pack?

As the title says but my question is can I call them to put in a claim if I’m not the original puller? Have a guy selling me a downtown but he disclosed to me about the card coming right out of the pack with a noticeable crease he doesn’t seem interested in seeing if he can get it fixed and rather sell it at a discount.

So is there anything I can do from a buyers perspective

Thank you

I think the guy who sold me my Walter Payton rookie card said the same thing. Keep us updated, interested to see the outcome. Subbed

If its from this year, you can file a claim on the website and send it in for a new one. If its older, I would call and talk to someone first.

Took around 6 months last time i did it.

And yes, it doesn't matter if you pulled it or not. I did it with a card I purchased on ebay, sold it to someone here who pointed out (correctly) that it had a dimple in the surface, i refunded him, got it replaced, sold it for a lot more on ebay lol.

Is the card by chance a Downtown Jordan Love?

Seems like a skeezy thing to do if you ask me.

Like other things in life.. just because you can get away with doing it, doesn't make it moral/right.

Tell the guy to get it replaced himself.

If you buy at a discount and send in for replacement youre not guaranteed to get it.

Let me know if it works. I dropped a stack of, um, imperfect pack pulled cards yesterday.

It’s from this year. I was ready to pay full price but the guy was honest with me. I’m not a reseller I’m 100% a collector so for those thinking I’m trying to turn it around stop assuming. The guy just doesn’t seem interested in getting it replaced because I told him panini can replace these cards if it comes with imperfections but he just brushed it off. Appreciate the feed back I’ll see if I end up buying it

Wonder how many times the card got damaged from the handler, and was claimed that it came from the pack that way.

I've only returned one card for replacement and was successful. Although, I remember having to provide a copy of the purchase receipt and a wax wrapper. Am I misremembering or is that part of the process?

Assuming it was damaged out of the pack, you can go to this link:

https://www.paniniamerica.net/suppor...ry-damage.html

Type - football
Year - 2020
Brand - donruss
Program - donruss
Card set - downtown!
Select Card - whatever card it is

When I opened a ticket on a damaged Joe Burrow from the 2020 Phoenix Fanatics factory set, they wanted these items:

1. copy of the ticket/packing slip Panini gives you after creating the support ticket.
2. copy of original purchase receipt
3. empty wrapper from purchase

I didn't have a wrapper for them so I took pictures of the factory box and included that in the ticket. The receipt I wound up printing off the Fanatics email confirmation.

I added a picture of the package I sent to Panini along with the tracking information to the support ticket. I figure the more documentation the better.

For this particular card I'm figuring they'll replace it with something else, doubt they have extras of a factory set lying around.

Agreed. I don't get some of the responses here. If it's the current year and the card is damaged, then the manufacturer should replace it regardless of whether the person sending it in pulled it from a pack.

Thats the part I'm not sure and if I need to do that I just want the seller to be on board with that I'm not a perfectionist but any means but the crease the card has is very noticeable...

I mean... I cant dispute with the guy hes being upfront about the card when I know some would've just sold it at full value + profit and not disclose anything. I have seen some other big downtown cards coming with some hard imperfections from Panini like a print line all the way down the middle or dimples in the card.

What do you think I'm trying to gain here?... I'll give the seller the benefit of the doubt that hes being honest because this is not panini first go around on messing cards up right out of the pack.

Do you have an image of the card and the defect?

That doesn't look like damage out of the pack. If that was the case, the rest of the cards would look like that in that pack as well. Ask the seller for images of the other creased cards.

It looks like he just destroyed this card by accident

Yeah I asked him to see the other cards he hasn't got back to me on that yet, I probably wont buy tho after doing some more digging you need the receipt and the pack wrapper it came from so in other terms I need to be the original puller. Sucks for anyone buying resell because most of the resellers wont have the receipts from the stores they're buying all these up from.

Just thinking out loud, but it doesn't seem likely that they should be able to tell what cards came in what pack. I would speculate that if you have a receipt and the wrapper from a similar pack, it should work all the same.

I'm not familiar with the packaging process, but it's possible that inserts, particularly rare ones like this, are packaged differently than a normal pack. If that is the case, then it's certainly possible that it could be damaged while the other cards in the pack are not.

You might be right and I'm not gonna assume hes lying since he was upfront and honest with me and I cant fault him on that, he could've easily sold it to me damaged at full resale value and I would've been screwed most likely so I told him my findings on the replacement program and told him I'm not gonna buy it. Again please don't think this was me asking because I wanted to flip it. I'm a viking fan and this was a vikings card for my collection. I've always been a collector first for 15+ years now
