Default eBay fraud - goldustnrouge - Kennebunk ME

Heads up - block this guy. Likely fraud.

He has a large eBay store.

Shipped a 2019 Tatis Xfractor to him PSA 9 #46514564.

Tracking showed:
Feb 25, 2021
1:51am
AWAITING DELIVERY SCAN
KENNEBUNK, ME 04043
Feb 24, 2021
7:51am
OUT FOR DELIVERY
KENNEBUNK, ME 04043

Multiple messages and even phone calls to his business - Gold Dust and Rouge Jewerly Store with no response.

He opened a case. eBay refunded him in full and he likely has the card (he is not responding to any messages). He opened a case against me and said this 1 comment - "i have no option other than to simply rely upon the post office to do their job."

No guarantee he has it or anything. You cannot prove it was delievered so its on you. Your only hope is that you insured it at this point.

I am kind of shocked Ebay allowed it though since it seems to be more than 30 days since the estimated delivery date. When did he open the claim?

Going to assume you didn't insure it?

You are going to get a lot of replies you don't like here. There is no record of delivery, why would you assume he has the card? And why are you calling him and not USPS?

I used to only click signature confirmation on $500+. Now that the hobby has blown up and I see weird shipping addresses and business names on the line with weird speculators popping up, I click it for $400+ and sometimes even $300+. Sending to a PWCC vault? Np, no sig needed. Sending to Poppin' Gems in Las Vegas? Yeah, maybe don't want to give a $15/hour store employee an option.

Yeah I know it's $2.50 down the drain but ...

No responses after several tries. Wouldn’t you communicate if you wanted to be an honest good card collector? He has to understand I’m out the card and be nice enough to say something?? I even asked if he’d be willing to let me know if he gets it to let me know. No response. Open you eyes, that’s fraud!

No its not. There is zero requiremnt they contact you the fact he seems to have waited almost a month shows he was not a scammer would have just jumped on it as soon as they could have in most cases. Sometimes when you try to message a seller after the time has expired Ebay will open a claim.

Again you cannot prove it was not delievered you are responsible for the item UNTIL it shows delievered.

For me I wait 3 weeks for an item to arrive if it does not I open a claim. No sense in messaging the seller. As a seller I tell buyers if they have not gotten it to open the claim. You should want buyers to open claims. With Ebay refunding them if it ever shows delievered you can get Ebay to refund you. If you just refund it then you do not have that option.

Based on what you are saying he was running out of time to even open a claim. Why should he be out the card and the money because you cannot prove delivery? It sucks when it happens but its part of the risk of selling anywhere online.

Most cards I purchase from eBay are 100-1000 dollars

99 percent of people send 3 oz small bubble mailer first class

Anything over 100 is priority mail

Usually around 250 I always insure

People take usps for granted

I received 1000 dollar cards many times no priority no insurance

Different scenarios yes its possible the buyer has it and he seems to be a bad buyer but the OP cannot prove that it was ever received.. So any site on the planet where people buy and sell would rule in favor of the buyer here.

Seems like the buyer indeed sucks. But unless his reach extends to the USPS, not relevant to this situation.

I would have contacted the Post Office in that town. It looks like the carrier didn't scan it when it was delivered. Maybe he gets a lot of mail and the carrier is too lazy to scan it all or maybe it was pilfered. Maybe its a deeper conspiracy, who knows. Bottom line, the PO screwed up. The honesty of the buyer is a different issue.

Didn't say he can. I work in bank fraud/ nonfraud claims for a living. Its nothing new to me.

The buyer still shows a history of being a scum bag however. So I'd say he is still block worthy. lol

Not denying that, just saying that the OPs scenario it completely differnet and the OP has nothing to prove their case with. Unless insurance was bought then its on him. Regardless of if the buyer got it or not.

Would not shock me if Ebay did not send out the message letting him know it never showed delivered. I know Amazon will if an item is late they start bombing you with messages asking you if you want to get a refund and it even says if you are issued a refund and item shows you can keep the item. What they don't tell you is the seller is the one who is charged.

There are scamming buyers who prey upon the post office's mistakes to get the item and the refund from eBay. Based on track record of buyer and the oddly worded claim to eBay—"i have no option other than to simply rely upon the post office to do their job" and not "I never got the card"—I would bet he has the card and money. However, this cannot be proven and OP is responsible for having a record of the item being delivered.

Once a fruad/scumbag - always a fraud/scumbag.

I know this is pure speculation- but definitely not outside a reasonable conclusion based off past actions noted in the Jewcer thread....

This guy has to be looking for anyway to commit fruad and ot be caught. I bet (pure speculation) anytime a card is delivered and not scanned by USPS as delivered - he pulls this same #@#@#@#@.

Like others have said - I would contact the USPS and have them look into this case.

I would also contact Ebay and start a conversation. You might be SOL with Ebay as the Package was never scanned delivered but it's worth a shot. Maybe wait until after talking with USPS.
