Default What would you pay to have done?

Reading in the mowing thread I figured I would start another thread about the things you would gladly pay someone else to do for you.

We have a housecleaner that comes and cleans and does laundry. It’s fan-friggin-tastic. With 3 kids, I spend an hour a day cleaning - easy. It’s awesome to come home on Fridays and the house be spotless and laundry done and folded.

I’ve done a ton of jobs in my life that weren’t fun including roofing, nighttime stocking at Home Depot and parting out bodies that were donated for transplant. I’ve demo’d and remodeled two bedrooms, a bathroom, built a 40’x5’ retaining wall - and countless other home projects. Now I have the money and don’t care about applying it towards things that I don’t want to do. At this point in life, time is as valuable to me as anything.

Other than housecleaning and laundry, maybe grocery shopping but I’m probably too particular about my food to let someone else pick it.

What would you oh to have someone do regularly for you?

Everything.

The only thing I want to do outside of the office is take my kids to sports.

I’ll pay for everything else

And I basically do

My wife loves to cook we we eat at home Monday through Thursday but I’d absolutely eat out if she wanted

So something I still don’t do

I would like to pay to have everything done as well. However in general, there is a part of me that would like to accumulate skills over time to become more interesting. But:
-Cleaning the house
-Oil changes
-Installing things like Ceiling fans, curtains/blinds/shades
-Remodeling in general, like tearing down walls and rebuilding

I've learned that it just makes more sense to leverage my expertise at work to maximize my income, and pay people to do things that I have no expertise in to make my life better. But, as I said, I become less skillful and interesting, which kinda sucks

I exchange my time at work so that I don't work outside of work. If I haven't naturally gravitated to the job as a hobby or interest, there's no chance I'm doing it.

I do some landscaping/yardwork, but anything that requires a truck to dispose of, that's why I got Rodrigo in my contacts.

You've really made it to the top if you are bathed daily by really hot members of the opposite sex.

I’m a real man. I do everything myself and don’t ask for help or instruction.

I’m not a real man

Your life sounds exhausting. Mine sounds relaxing

You haven’t lived until you’ve cut drywall with a pocket knife and your 3 good teeth.

I’d have to buy a pocketknife first. Haha

Hang out in Columbus after dark for freebies.

You’ll be picking them out of your ribs.

Not much to be honest..I personally wouldn't pay someone to mow my lawn or roof/side my house when I'm capable of doing it myself, and I don't mind changing oil or house chores. Any heavy duty electrical/ HVAC jobs would require a professional though.

Regularly? Nothing. I split firewood for fun. Got a huge pile of it and don’t even have a fireplace. This summer I am going to pay to have someone build a barn for me when normally I’d do it myself so there is that. I hope to put in a wood stove.

$1900 buck to a year to have my lawn (1.9 acres) cut, weed wacked and beds mulched...just shaved 2-3 hours a weekend off my chore list. More time to hit the links and work. Plus mulching is a full 8 hours on one weekend.

The only thing I pay for is mechanic work. My thought is, why pay someone when I can do it myself?

I am paying to have a fence to put in this summer though because I didn’t feel like going through the hassle of getting a permit and all that stuff.

I do well for myself any got there through hard work that I am proud of. I can’t fathom asking someone else to do my chores.

HVAC and carpeting.

Everything else I can do and usually it's just as good or better than people who do it for a living.

I paid to have new windows and gutters put on my house. Could I have done it myself? Yes, but I'm pretty clumsy and didn't want to clean up broken glass.

My two big ones are mowing (allergies screw me up too much) and oil change (money saved by doing it myself isn't worth the time spent).
