Default BGS 9.5 w/ 10 auto vs 9.5 w/9 auto

Just wondering the general thoughts on this. If there is an auto card you are looking for will you even consider a BGS 9 auto grade? What kind of premium would you pay to have that 10 auto?
Are you more forgiving on the auto grade if it is a low pop card? I know some guys live and die by that 10 auto

Buy it, break it, send to PSA.

Risk downgrading to a PSA 9 with no auto grade?

Secondary market prices of 9.5's with 9 autos typically place them right in line with a good eye appear raw card.

Best to crack and resubmit to a company that won't assign an auto sub.

A psa 9 with no auto grade would sell for about the same as the 9.5 with 9 auto. And if you get a psa 10 then you just hit the motherfuqin jackpot.

That's a good risk/reward looking at it like that. Cause I do have a BGS 9.5 with a 9 auto and I've been contemplating what to do with it. It is also a true gem + with 3x 9.5 and 1x 10 so it would have a good shot at a 10. But part of me would be happier having a true gem+ w/ 9 auto vs a PSA 9... other's thoughts?

Most of the 9 autos are only 9's because the auto runs off the card or they didn't fit there signature perfectly in the tiny given area. I have plenty of 9 autos that look the same as most of the 10 autos

Auto grade doesn't bother me as much. Most times it's on the person who signed it and not the physical card itself

Who cares about auto grades anyways? It either looks good or it doesn't.

I’d rather get a legible non fading 9 over a 10 that has faded and poorly signed.

I haven’t collected BGS in a very long time... but autograph grades have always been super dumb

They aren’t authenticating it

They just really like the pen he used

So dumb

And yes it’s still dumb with PSA now that they do it as well

If it's for your PC you should do whatever makes you happy. But ROI wise it makes a lot more sense to crack and send to PSA if it's a gem+ card.
