Default Haven't seen a Jalen Hurts thread

Haven't seen a Jalen Hurts thread here in a while. What do you think about the market for his cards?

I was lucky to come across a Chronicles Prizm Black Gold Auto /10 in a break the other day and I just sent it in for grading. Hoping he can ball out for a few games and get a market going. Not sure I see it as a long term hold but more of a flip a quarter through the season if things go right.

I'm a biased Eagles fan but I think Hurts and their offense will be very good.

I think Smith will be a star and Reagor will be a solid WR as well. Miles Sanders seems to fly under the radar a bit but is an awesome back. The O line should be healthy too.

Let's see what they can do.

Washington fan here. Had the opportunity to see him quite a bit last year and his final year in college. It was disappointing to see him pegged as a gimmick player coming in because he's got an NFL arm for sure.

In terms of his market, he's definitely undervalued but I've resisted going overboard on him. The only hesitancy I have is with the organization and coaching. I'm not entirely convinced they will give him much rope if he ends up struggling for say 2-3 games in a row this year and I'm honestly not big on Sirianni as a "big time" coach. I have no doubts about Hurts himself.

In just so I can be on page 1. Love looking back on these threads. My completely uneducated opinion is this. He'll have a huge year. Lots of hobby hype. And then go the way of many 2nd and 3rd year players and fade into oblivion.

Agree that Hurts is a bit undervalued. I bought my fill earlier this year, and they haven't moved much since then. A bit disappointing given the approaching NFL season openers. But I think that's in line with most views on Hurts (excepting Matthew Berry's praise today).

He'll have prime time exposure on MNF in week 3 against the Cowboys, and the week 4 matchup at home against the Chiefs.

I think there are some Josh Allen type possibilities here.

Talking myself into buying more...

Being a Bama homer, I have to say that I think Hurts will do exceptionally well in the NFL. I think he will be in contention for MVP within the next 5 years.

have about 50 Hurts cards at PSA. Everyone was going after Herbert and Burrow so I decided to deviate back in December/January. Hope he has a good season.

I really want Hurts to succeed because I do like him, but I'm not sold on him as a passer. The Eagles have been connected to Deshaun Watson a lot, and there were rumors swirling that they wanted to take a QB in the draft if the right guy was available. That said, those are just rumors, and while those things may reflect the Eagles' front office members' opinions of him, they aren't factual.

He needs to grow though. He looked great in weeks 14 and 15 and showed flashes of explosive play with his legs, but in weeks 16 and 17, he kind of wilted under pressure and exhibited really poor decision-making. He has good - not great - arm strength, but his athleticism and elusiveness are very desirable traits. It's hard to tell sometimes whether his mistakes are a result of poor mechanics or bad decision-making. A lot of the times he's not using his legs to drive throws, which takes away from velocity and leads to more overthrows or interceptions (e.g., Cowboys game).

I put him in my C tier of hobby value over the next few years.

I believe in Hurts and Herbert as the two star Quarterbacks from 2020 class. I personally like Burrow but I feel he will become the next Matthew Stafford or Matt Ryan. Solid quarterbacks but will never be one of the elite.

Just got a haul back from CSG. Will take a beating on them since it's CSG but I'm a fan of Jalen. Not sure why folks don't pump him more. Sure he's no Patty, but not everyone can be Patty

I watched every play at OU and will tell you many of his amazing highlights were not always the best/accurate throws but as much amazing catches/runs by Ceedee Lamb...(that dude is legit).

His accuracy wains outside of about 25 yards, not every throw but many. In the NFL you need to be accurate. I think his arm talent is better than LambLamb but his wheels are no where close. He is a winner though and he works hard.

That being said I don't think he will be a starter in 3 years.

It's crazy how if a QB is taken with the 32nd overall pick, he's a franchise guy. QB is taken with the 33rd pick, backup who can push the starter. I don't know why teams would spend a 2nd round pick then look to cut bait. 2nd rounders should have a good shot at becoming starters.

He's not the one. He will have this year to prove something, but the Eagles' front office have made no secret that they're looking for a better option long term.

Buying him is foolish, IMO.

depends on how the offense is built. if they do something similar like is implemented in Baltimore, i don't see why he can't have similarish success like lamar

Is there any indication from Eagles' camp that they are re-vamping the offense for his benefit?

Very cool stuff and smart choices! I've been searching a while now for an optic holo of his that was worthy of sending off to get graded but it's tough. The centering on a lot of the raw optic cards floating around is...woof. Yours look pretty solid from first glance. Congrats!

Been hearing pretty steady news that the whole team is rallying behind him as he has taken a firm leadership role within the organization, moreso than the team ever looked towards Wentz. I hope he does well. Looking forward to him connecting to Devonta Smith on some deep balls.
This is the only card I have:

Took a gamble and sent my Hurts Chronicles Prizm Gold /10 Auto in to PSA. I've heard these things get graded tough but I felt like this should have come back a 9. Pretty disappointed.

Well, it's a good thing they have their own Lamb in Devonta Smith.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I have a few of his key cards but I have a few key cards for almost every Eagles players since the early 80s. Only ones I've ever started dumping were the Wentz cards, as he quit on his team, and that's not acceptable.

He has a good O line, an unproven but decent on paper receiving corps, two proven TEs, and a good RB behind him.

If he doesn't have at least some success this year, he only has himself to blame.

I think he seems like a natural leader and a winner, so go get 'em Jalen.

I have a decent amount of dough on the Eagles to win the division at +470 odds, so I might be biased!
