So is this the normal way that BGS ships out thousand dollar cards???
Also, did you know that when you call the main phone number, it is answered by someone in the Philippines! I guess that shouldn't matter, but still rubs me the wrong way....

It may not look like much, but that tape is pretty secure. It's not like regular packing tape that can just come loose with a small tug. Case in point: it made it to you without an issue.

Also, the fact that they leave the slits exposed so greatly, is just sad. The other three grading companies practically hide the box with so much tape, and certainly cover the exposed edges/flaps. The gaps are so big, I can put my finger in there. At least I felt a slab! I just think it is despicable that this is BGS's standard for packaging. |

Wow. Hope all the slabs are safe. That is a very poor job and that is being nice. This looks like a packaging job I get from people on eBay who have absolutely no idea how to send a box of wax.

Besides the horrible packing job, the box looks filthy.
Are they going through dumpsters for packing materials? Really squeezing the juice out of the orange. |

If the slabs are good and you got all of them just fine, does it really matter?

But what are you basing that on? This box was obviously beat to hell by FedEx and it made it without damage to the slabs. The "next box" from any grading company might not fair so well because it gets run over by a forklift at a processing facility. More tape wouldn't change that.
If I got a box like this I would question FedEx's handling, not BGS's packaging. |

As a shipper, you need to take the utmost care with anything of value because you have to assume that all the shipping companies are just going to throw the boxes around like this. Despite their faults, take a look at your next PSA return or watch someone rip a box on a reveal. They put the security tape around ever single edge / corner of the box so that it won't split like this. |

Hypotheticals mean nothing. Until Ive seen more than one instance of this happening, this is just a one-time occurrence.

It's obvious they could care less....
Didn't get a quality response to the issue, and no followup. This is my first BGS sub....

Wow you email BGS and ask for a manager? Okay Karen. The only thing the packaging has to do is get your cards back to you without damage. Sounds like it did, so just move on. Sheesh.
If I had to guess they'll be printing your email and putting it up on the wall of the shipping department to laugh at. |

What happens after that? Theres nothing to reimburse as the boxing did its job. Any response you get will just be false appeasement of a non-problem. |

Evidently they don't care as this is standard operating procedure.... My buddy just got this one with exposed side slots. Maybe if SGC, CGC/CSG, PSA didn't have such high shipping standards, this might not even be an issue? But if they ever reject some cards and send them back raw, there could be moisture/rain issues if the box gets subjected to the elements.
