Is JDom a Bust?

in the context of where his prices were at, it seems like he is at the present time.

i can't imagine his prices not going down even more.

His BC auto was almost 1k out of the gate and is now under $800. Anyone who ever invested in a Jasson Topps product is underwater

I do own approx 800$ of raw Jasson.

But didn't a similar/close hyped player, Marco Luciano, struggled in his first couple months of Low A (I'm happy to heavily own still). I don't have the stats in front of me but remember him starting slow in low A.

I'm fine risking my Jasson cards and will hold. Biased but it's way too early for me to call a player a bust at 18 or 19 years old. I think the thread title is wrong, the problem is he likely has just been over valued. Bust is way to strong a word.

Luciano struggled for a week, better example is Witt Jr. I was so down on him after showing nothing in rookie ball, but look at him now.

Witt didn't do much in rookie ball but he still struck out at an under 20% clip. That's the biggest red flag with Jasson because that number usually doesn't go down as you move up levels:

Trout A ball: 14.1% k rate
Vladdy A ball: 10.7%
Tatis: 23.9%
Acuna: 16.4%
Harper: 20%
Betts: 11.8%
Machado: 14.7%
Judge: 21.2%

Pretty much the only number that matters for Jasson is his K rate. If he stays over 30% in A ball its unlikely he will end up being a huge star. That doesn't mean he can't be, but its not a great sign. Most great players don't strike out a ton in A ball.

Gallo struck out a ton in the minors and still made it to the majors so it does happen, but that's not what was built into Jasson's card prices.
