I don’t have much to submit at around $100, but it is good they are opening more services.

I think $75/$100 is much more likely. $125 with express at $150 seems really really improbable.

Good news, but with the holidays coming I would think doing that would be a bad business decision.

They sent a survey out to users that have submitted directly to them and in it they kind of telegraphed through the questions that they will have Express at $150 (1 month turnaround); Regular at $100 (3 month turnaround); Value at $50 (6 month turnaround), or at least that is what they are aiming for eventually. Whether, they ever get to that point is anybody's guess.

Is value 20 card minimum?

$100 a card is not going to lead to substantially more submissions than they’re getting at $150 currently.

Yes, they don’t want a 5 card order at $50 a card. My guess is value is more long the lines of $20-30 a card

Not quite. They “ASKED” what you would pay. I did not reply that I would pay $50 for 6 months. I replied $30 for 3 months

Yea, $50 value isn't going to work. It's going to be lower.

"Value" at $50 isn't really a value.
If we don't somehow see PSA get down in the $25 range again at some point, then the card collecting hobby will forever be changed.

if they are planning on grading 400k cards a week with their 3 locations, they are going to have to come in pretty cheap.

Want to bet? No Regular in 8 months. Down to $100. Cards back to you in late winter, early spring. Alternative is waiting for Economy to open probably at $50 in late spring 2022. Then wait until late 2022 or early 2023 to get it back. I know I have a handful of cards that I’ve been sitting on that are finally going to be worth sending in.

Yeah i’d be willing to bet it doesn’t increase the long term submission rate by more than ~10-20% max after the initial bump of the cards people have been sitting on.

You’ve got a handful of cards…I’ve got a few I wouldn’t send at $150 that I’d consider at $100. I’m sure everybody has their grading piles sorted by what cost they’d send them in at.

Sure there will be a pop the first week or two it’s open from pent up demand but it’s not going to be a substantially increased new rate. The range of cards that aren’t worth it at $150 but are at $100 is fairly narrow.

We’re talking about a company with capacity to grade 150-200k cards/week. The math won’t substantially change until we get to $50 or less options. They still are very likely not taking in as many cards per week as they can grade, capacity is generally filled from the backlog still would be my guess.

I mean, obviously they are not taking in the amount they can process per week or the backlog wouldn’t be getting chipped away at.

Stay focused lol. the real question is whether opening up $100 level will cause a surge of new submissions.

My point was the VAST MAJORITY comes from the backlog and a small % from newer submissions.

we don’t have any way to quantify it, but I disagree, which is fine. There just aren’t enough cards where the $50 makes enough difference where they start receiving say an extra 50k cards every week.

I polled 2500 customers and the #’s were overwhelming. When it got to $100 they would send a lot more cards. There is a way to quantify it which is why psa sent the poll they sent too.

Very scientific and very convincing! lmao

"a lot more"

PS: "which is why psa sent the poll they sent too." This sentence appears to be written by a third grader! lol
