Default Heisman Winner: Bryce Young or CJ Stroud

Who you got and why? These two are neck and neck. Both surrounded by talent. Only two games left for each before the Dec. 11th presentation.

Bryce Young Stats:
3,586 Passing Yards
38 Passing TDs
2 Rushing TDs
3 INTs

CJ Stroud Stats:
3,468 Passing Yards
36 Passing TDs
5 INTs

Alabama Remaining Games:
At Auburn
SEC title game vs. #1 UGA

Ohio State Remaining Games:
At #6 Michigan
BIG10 title game against either Wisconsin/Iowa or possibly another team if things shake different. Not sure if Minnesota or Purdue have a chance if Wisconsin and Iowa lose.

I feel like Stroud has had a two stretches where he's looked every bit of the role and two stretches where he hasn't looked anywhere close. His stats do feel mostly empty for how poorly he played in the first two remotely notable games for the Buckeyes (Oregon & Penn State).

Not sure what the live odds look like, but I'd imagine it's going to come down to the wire. Think Stroud definitely did more to help his stock today; it's too bad he missed a game this year with a shoulder injury.

Honestly feel like they both did a lot today to help their case.

Feel like the UGA game will determine the winner. If Young shines I think he gets it. If he struggles Stroud gets it.

Fully agree with that one - a big game against UGA's elite defense to win the conference and clinch a playoff berth? There's no argument, regardless of what Stroud does.

They both put up silly stats today, the difference is Bryce Young did it against a somewhat decent defense. MSU had the last ranked pass D in the country. And they have to be one of the worst top 10 teams we've seen in mid-November in the last 10-15 years.

If the voters are actually paying attention to details, I don't think today created separation between the 2 (but definitely separated them from everyone else).

I give the slight edge to Bryce Young based on consistency.

I think Stroud shreds an overrated Michigan team, continuing the hype, and ultimately wins in a close vote. Though I think Bryce Young will have deserved it slightly more.

If Alabama can pull the rabbit out of the hat and beat Georgia, I’m thinking Young wins it. I am also super biased as an Alabama fan and I have young at +900 from September to win it, so yeah.

If bama loses to Georgia and Ohio state wins out, it has to be stroud.

What if Bama loses to Georgia but Bruce shines and Ohio State wins out and CJ plays poorly?

i went with Stroud, i feel like Bryce Young in the A&M game was a major letdown. that's a game on the road, in a tough environment, where you win and stake your claim, and they lost, and he didn't look very good.

I feel like both of these young men have put on clinics at the QB position this season. I can see the case for both of them, but I'm going to go with Young. He has the better all around stats so far. It's going to really come down to the next 2 games to really see who is the better QB.

He threw for 369 and 3 touchdowns, including one with 5 minutes to go. The defense lost that game with their inability to stop the pass (due in much part to starting safety Malachi Moore going out on the first drive due to a targeting call).

Stroud gonna get a pass for the basically game-sealing interception in the loss to Oregon (who doesn't have a top 50 defense)?

Assuming these two finish 1/2 in the vote:

2022 will only be the 4th time in (at least) 50 years that the top two finishers for the Heisman both come back for another season:

2022 - Bryce Young, CJ Stroud (or CJ Stroud, Bryce Young)
2009 - Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy
2005 - Matt Leinart, Adrian Peterson
1975 - Archie Griffin, Anthony Davis

I think my research is correct here....

he also missed several throws and didn't come in clutch on the final drive before A&M got the ball and scored the game winning FG i believe.

but seeing Stroud shred No. 7 Michigan State was pretty crazy

You could say the same about Stroud not coming in clutch against Oregon though and Michigan St was WAY over ranked at #7, we all know that.

Like I've said before, Young and Stroud are both incredible players and both are beyond deserving, but I don't think we will really have a clear answer until the final 2 games (including the conference championships).

Bryce Young has played in 40 quarters out of a possible 44 this year.

CJ Stroud has only played 36 quarters.

Bryce has only throw for 116 yards and 2 more TDs than CJ.

4th quarter last Saturday against 7-4 Arkansas Bryce threw for 80 yards and a TD.

CJ didn’t play the 4th

At the end of the day Saturday is all that matters

If Stroud smokes Michigan?

He walks away with it and it won’t be close

Stroud threw 2 interceptions and 2 touchdowns against a 3-7 Nebraska team.

Young threw 2 touchdowns and 0 (ZERO, ZIP, NADA) interceptions against a 4-5 LSU team.

We get your the biggest Ohio St Homer on this forum, but you don't even attempt to give any other non Ohio St player any credit at all.

Not necessarily. What if Young smokes Auburn?
