NFT's aren't what cards are. They overlap what card collectors want and they appeal to a significant minority of those collectors, but most of us will never have them as the focus of our collection.
This is just a small part of what Fanatics is going to be doing, and doesn't directly relate to their acquisition of the exclusive licenses. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |

I’ll just keep on doing what I’ve been doing: completely ignoring NFTs.

I recall Rovell tweeting out how much the average price of a NBA Top Shot NFT has declined over the past year. Couple that with a Gary Vee tweet about not investing more, in NFTs, than you can afford, and just read between the lines... no staying power.

NFTs are not cards.

Yeah I have zero interest in NFTs. I only want something I can physically touch. #WaxWins

Some people like them, but in the end you're literally just buying a string of code that unlocks a picture you don't own. Its a huge margin business for the seller.

But from a flipping perspective cards are indeed NFTs because flippers are not interested in collecting them/cards don’t have value as a collectible by definition.

Just looks like Fanatics doing a bunch of TMs on what the current card companies already do. Would be more of a surprise if they didn’t expand their TM into NFTs.
Why wouldn’t Fanatics have NFT for cards when there has already been shown to be a market? |

Could careless about NFTs. Do worry about Fanatics devoting more capital/resources into their NFT line instead of physical cards though.

Yes, that makes sense to me and I could see that working. Could do the virtual packs and have a chance to randomly hit something tied to actual autographed materials you could receive. Or even if it's just a limited print run card that you could physically receive, that could have some appeal.
