I run a booth at an antique store, and this piece walked into my store along with some other stuff (McFarlane Figurines, autographed footballs, etc). I know how to go about finding values on all of that stuff. But I'm at a loss about this piece.
It appears to cover an array of years as the uniform contract is from the 1960s, the ticket stubs are from the Finals, the employee badge is from 2000, etc. It's also framed really nice and includes a seperate piece that has a press release from The Forum. Anyway, I'm looking for value help on what to offer the guy for it. Also, I'm planning to buy it and resale it as I don't collect basketball cards, memorabilia or nothing of the like. Thanks. yeah the tickets are phantom tickets if they didnt make it ... you can search for phantom ticket comps on ebay to better help assess the value. They sell, but aren't coveted so usually takes a while unless running a 99 cent auction and letting it ride.

Kind of what I was thinking. He said he'd sell it for $500. But I don't think it's worth that much. Thanks for the post.
Yea, I did research and found out they didn't make the Finals that year. So knew they weren't worth too much. I think the biggest piece is the player uniform contract and the letter announcing Kareem's signing. Just can't find anything on that latter piece.

I mainly collect autographs, and I know a lot about signed contracts. There was a contract from Hot Rod Hudley years ago, former player and Jazz broadcaster. It was worth a bit because of his signature, the small amount of NBA player salary at that time, and that the contract said he'd be fined $5 for each pound over a certain weight that he gained. Other times, contracts are worth something if the team owner signed it -- Jerry Buss, or former Hall of Fame player Jerry West when he was GM. As this piece is, there's really not much value in it. You'd have to find a hardcore Lakers fan, that buys ANYTHING Lakers, and even as such, you wouldn't get more than a few hundred for it if you were lucky.
