Default How much did you spend in 2021?

I asked this question last year.

How much did you spend on trading cards in 2021?

Interested to see how people's spending habits changed this year with changes in the hobby and overall economy.

I'll kick it off.

Spent $6300 on mostly baseball cards. I also sold $5300 to offset the majority of the cost of ripping.

As I look forward to 2022, I'm hoping to start rip cases instead of multiple hobby boxes.

Happy New Year!

My numbers are skewed because I buy to sell. So does that really count as spending?

No because the result would be a huge negative, LOL.

Too much. Which is why my plan for this new year is to turn about a quarter of what I've spent last year on trading cards in to net profit.

Better keep good records in 2022 because Uncle Sam will be on the lookout.

Always has been. If you didn't know you should keep records by now, I don't know what to tell you.

Hopefully you’ve always kept good records. Because good luck hunting down transaction details from five years ago.

Sucked it up and just checked my PayPal rewards summary. Ytd 454,103 and that’s not even including 7-8 invoices I won from goldin/Leeland/heritage including the biggest card purchase as well as PayPal family & friends sent directly. For the new year, definitely have to tone it down to just maybe a grail or Two & maybe limiting some set chases. But then easier said than done!

A whole lot less than I’ve ever spent before. It was a Very disappointing year IMHO, but it left me with a lot of extra funds for my ‘67 Vette Resto-mod project.
