4k to spend on one card-what should i buy?

A long term hold but not too risky of a player

I have my bonus coming in about a week so I’m asking myself the same thing right now lol. I had a bunch of stuff on my radar, Tim Duncan Row 0 rookie, KG Jambalaya, Allen Iverson credentials rookie, a good Anthony Edwards card for the future. But I think I personally decided on a Lebron Topps Chrome rookie, most likely PSA 9 but I’ll watch BGS 9.5 auctions too. Just feels like the right time to pick one up with the prices coming down over the past year and him being this generation’s GOAT.

He’s playing arguably the best stretch of his career. This is the WORST time to pickup Lebron cards!

The 97-98 Flair Row 0 is what every Panini card aspires to be. It just stands out.

While I would recommend certain greening cards, that Marlon Maxey has a couple decades to go.

Or an 03 Kobe Base Exquisite. (I'm biased)

Or a LeBron Topps Pristine Refractor RC (or a Rookie of his you like).

$4k is a lot of fun on a card.

It really isn't. They've halved or more in the past year. His stuff is low with the Lakers sucking pretty hard.

Depends on how long you want to hold. If its short term, 2018 Luka Silver PSA 10. 2,104 PSA 10's isn't a lot to go around the world no matter what anyone says.

I'd only spend 4k on a card I have researched, like, features a player I enjoy, and truly personally believe in. If purely investing buy total market index fund haha, that would be my advice. Otherwise, safer bets for more modern cards (vintage prob safest of all but I prefer 95 onwards in terms of my tastes), suggest research and try to find some nice MJ inserts like Hot Shots/Takeit2net or under radar (ish) ssp panini inserts of Kobe/Curry/Bron.
