1998 Topps Chrome Jumbo Series 2 HTA

My fifth box of these in the past 1.5 years - have had a lot of fun on these rips chasing Kobe and Jordan inserts. And Dirk rookies, Pierce rookies and Vince rookies.

This box was a lot of fun. Got the usual assortment of 3-5 each of the big rookies.

A number of cool inserts as per usual.

But wanted to share two cards:
Kobe Kick Start is just a beauty of a card.

And a Chrome Preview refractor. These fall every 3.5 boxes and let me tell you this is my first. Heart jumps a bit when you see the refractor shine in the rip. Hoping hoping for Jordan but wasn’t to be. They really shine though!

What do boxes of these typically run? Have you ran into cards sticking together?

I paid $450 for this. They pop up pretty infrequently on eBay.

Price is down was probably over $600 a year ago.

Cards stick together but it’s different than the skybox / upper deck ruining of cards. They come apart cleanly with no damage in my experience. It’s not “stuck” in the way you are thinking.

$450? Good price. I think they got up over $800 last year.

Any Legacies? Those are some nice inserts.

No legacies unfortunately. I think the legacy spot in the box was taken by the chrome refractor parallel.

I miss opening these for $120 pre-pandemic, LOL.

Well I hit the wrong Bull for the two best inserts.
Other than the pippens a pretty much wipe out on everything else.
So many HOF in this series!

Was a really fun rip but base cards were bricked. Inserts all seem fine though. Prices hopefully will keep dropping.
