Default Upcoming Rittenhouse Releases

https://www.scifihobby.com/releaseschedule-full.cfm

Lots of new stuff added to their release schedule, some of it Steve mentioned in the message board over there. Yet another GoT release coming this year apparently, hard to imagine they add any new signers that get people excited at this point but we'll see.

Already a second Doctor Who set too, with Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant signing apparently.

“Game of Thrones Archives”

Since most of Rittenhouse’s checklists are down and I can’t look, is there usually something specific they do with “Archives” sets or is it just another name?

Not surprised to see a House of Dragons set already planned

Just another name AFAIK. Many other Archives sets, Fantastic Four Archives, Spider-man Archives, JLA Archives, etc

Perhaps they’re holding onto about 25 Emilia Clarke dual autos with various other actors that will be seeded in the release. Of course, I don’t know this, but it wouldn’t surprise me. They’re going to have to have something different or big to sell the product. It took IA2 at least a couple of weeks after its release to sell out.

Most of that list is stuff I am not interested in. I may dabble a little more into the Discovery sets, but I can't get motivated to finish watching season 4. The show is just bad, imo. Will wait and see with Picard S2 and Strange new worlds. I feel like I just need to finish out my existing want list for Thrones and that is good with me. I guess they can come with some cool Inserts or something maybe, but that property is pretty well fleshed out now.

I don't collect any of the other properties listed. Hope the sets are good for those that do!!

I think they might have put out that list without double checking. It says that the next Star Trek TNG set is “art and images” when Rittenhouse has reiterated that it’s an inscriptions set (the TOS one was called Archives and Inscriptions).

Regarding the ones labeled “Archives,” Rittenhouse has in the past sometimes (but not always) used that term to refer to boxed sets, so who knows what they are going to be this time around.

Game of Thrones Archives = all the crap we have left and need to dump

Only one I'm even remotely interested in is the S2-3 Lost in Space

Unlikely considering they have a House of Dragons set already announced. The series will likely renew interest and provide a heap of new potential autos from the GOT world meaning that we will have GOT sets for many years to come.

Sorry no

This is a product to get rid of all their old stock before all the new stuff comes out in 2023

Im not sure if you guys are aware of this, but Steve from Rittenhouse confirmed Kit Harrington and Peter Dinklage inscriptions for the Archive release. There are also dual Emilia/Kit autos as well.

I wonder how many of those duals there will be? I'm gonna go with like 5.

RA puts out nice sets, but they really need to find some new licenses.

Agree.

I'd love to see them get the Harry Potter license.

My daughter and I are looking forward to the new Dr Who license.

It's probably not easy getting new licenses. I'd love to see Lucifer, Bones, and NCIS even though NCIS has been tried before.
Best to All,
Vinny

Agreed. It has to be difficult to find licenses that will yield enough sets and interest though.

Topps has Star Wars, they have Star Trek, Game of Thrones (maybe has a revival with new show), let Bond go, Upper Deck has MCU. Cryptozoic is doing Middle Earth.

Doing older shows is cool, but you don't have a growing fanbase and are stuck with limited sets/material.

Harry Potter seems like a decent one, especially if they are putting out new material. DC universe? Feels like "The Expanse" was a missed opportunity.

It's a red herring

Steve made a post on their message board, 50 Kit/Emilia duals apparently. Not too excited about Complete Series 2 since those base cards were easily my least favorite so far, hope they have some nice inserts.

They have a sell sheet up with some other nice looking autos. There's a full bleed Emilia Clarke in the mix.

It's obviously easy to make a set look promising showing all the best hits, but there are definitely going to be a handful of cards I really want in here. Too bad about 3 autographs per box IMO, pay 30% more so every case can have 3 Mark Gatiss and Souad Faress autographs in it.

Similar to baseball and other sport issues. Way more common stuff than big hits.
That’s why I like the gamble of breaks with iFish. He usually makes them affordable and small enough to spread out the chances of decent spots. I gamble on a big hit and look to buy all the commons as they regularly come down in price through time. I’m trying that with the Doctor Who set now.

Probably 5-10 copies of all nice cards. Rittenhouse seems to be the new Topps when it comes to low counts for big hit.

There are supposedly 50 Clarke/Harington duals, and I would guess at least that many total inscripions for each signer. Hopefully they don't print a huge ammount of cases on this one.

Did Dinklage really write his own inscriptions legibly?
