Default Goldin Vault vs. PWCC Vault

I'm seriously considering moving my high end cards to one of the vault services. My main reasons are to save on my insurance costs ($500+ per year) and to be able to sell easily when I want to.

I was curious if anyone has any experience with either. I read that PWCC has no seller or consignment fees and actually offer a bonus for cards sold over a certain amount. Does Goldin still charge seller fees?

If anyone has any info on either service, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I have some stuff at the PWCC Vault and used them for the same reasons you listed. Have had no issues with them so far.

To be fair, have had no experience with Goldin to date but have friends who have used them and had good things to say.

The PWCC Vault is next to the PWCC Barber Shop, so they offer extra services.

Cute but I’m looking for some serious responses from people who’ve actually used one of the services. Thanks.

Ethical people should have qualms regarding at least one of those services. Obviously you’ve no such reservations, nice…

Again, a pointless contribution. We’re all aware of the issues surrounding both companies. No newsflash there. I’m asking about experiences by people who’ve used the service. Not biased opinions from non-users.

I wouldn’t recommend Goldin either, then.

You currently have cards in Goldin vault?

No. You can go away. You’ve literally contributed absolutely nothing useful. Let the adults talk.

Hey look, it’s MTP trolling again. Nothing new here.

PWCC is a functional vault. Goldin is not. Yes, they can store your cards, you can send them to auction, and you can broker private sales. But there’s no public marketplace, and you have less flexibility in how you put your items up for auction. The interface on the PWCC website is also fantastic.

Honestly not sure what the PWCC fees are. I think 1% to put the card in your vault, then a very trivial amount each month after that.

PWCC actually has no consignment fees if sold through their marketplace. The Goldin vault does feel very “under construction” currently. Some ambiguous FAQ’s and sketchy details. At their core, I would trust Goldin more than PWCC, particularly with CU’s acquisition of Goldin. I’m assuming they will tie PSA into it at some point which could be very interesting. I’m expecting a grading/storage type offering which I would be onboard with.

I’ve been a PWCC vault user since 2020. Very happy with the service. Low fee structure and quick responses every time I had a question or edit request.

PWCC Vault is a solid alternative if you're pretty confident that you will eventually move that specific item via their auction platform (Weekly or Premier). Fixed Marketplace is a possibility, but has very low liquidity.

PWCC currently waives their storage costs and waives archival fees for graded items >250 (that will change longer-term), but it's 1% + a bunch of shipping fees to get the cards back so you're essentially paying the insurance cost that way anyways.

So I'd recommend sending to PWCC right when you're looking to move them; it can be a storage platform too, but you do lose control if you want to move it anywhere else.

Haven't used Goldin, but I've heard so many bad stories. As mentioned, they don't really have a functional vault, so it's only if you want to sell via their auction. Their CS is atrocious, unless you have that 6-8 figure item that will garner them press. They're just a disaster.

I recommend the alt vault. It’s free and they insure your cards. You can list your cards in your portfolio up in their auctions also if you’d like.

PWCC is about 15 minutes from me, is this a place I can walk into and oogle all your cards or is none of this vault nonsense ever on display?

I used PWCC Vault when it first opened. Was very pleased with it. I planned on leaving the cards in the Vault for years. I wasn't comfortable leaving my cards in my house after the surge in card values the last year or so.

Once eBay pulled the plug on PWCC, I pulled my cards out. I can always send them back. I'll keep an eye on their site auctions and consider shipping stuff in a couple months.

Same with me.

The main factor for me was that PWCC had a huge presence on eBay. With them getting the boot, sales plummeted and I bounced outta there.

Definitely a big factor for me. Their presence on eBay was what intrigued me at first. Them losing their account is a huge blow and may be the single biggest reason I don't use them (shill bidding aside).

Goldin was making a big push into vaulting services but after the CU acquisition that no longer seems to be the case, which leads me to believe that something is in the works either via PSA or Goldin or a combination of both.

I have been using PWCC for years and have diversified my vaulted assets by using onlyAlt. Both services are fine and do a good job. If I had to choose one I would choose PWCC but I would have no problem with onlyAlt for all my vaulted assets as well.

Sorry to bump this up....i currently have items at PWCC, but now that I have some stuff being graded at PSA, I was contemplating on sending it over to Goldin Vault. Fulfillment fees seem the same as PWCC, but they don't have any "fixed marketplace" fee structure yet since it hasn't launched. As for the auction aspect, I don't think I would use Goldin's Auction platform w/their non-transparent fees.

Just want to get other people's thoughts.

PWCC remains one of the most dishonest and corrupt organizations in the industry. Use them at your own risk.

Honest people don’t want honest people to use PWCC.
