I agree with the statement, though I think Lawrence is better than what we have seen so far. Jax was a clustermess this last year. IMHO, if Jones was drafted by Jax and Lawrence by NE, Lawrence would have been the one with the more successful rookie season.

I think Lawrence is the better athlete and has the better arm talent. He just went to a terrible situation where Mac went to a situation with good structure. Mac was protected by a decent defense and good run game. I think we see a down year for Mac and a much better year from Trevor.

I expect big things from both players

The Jaguars were a dumpster fire and hopefully they can build the oline up and give Trevor some weapons. I wouldn't be shocked if the jags go after Ross in the draft

Look for NE to sign a big name WR this FA. You can't compete with the Bills in that division if your #1 WR is Agholor, Bourne or Meyers

I am invested in both players so hoping for the best

He’s definitely not “better”.

I’m not sure Trevor will have the opportunity to develop well in Jax. I’m not sure Jones’ ceiling is going to be much higher than what we’ve seen. I have bought more Jones this year than Trevor because I don’t believe in QBs that get drafted by crap franchises.

I do know NE is a better place but has little to no offensive weapons.

As a Patriots fan, I would take Lawrence's skillset over Jones's without question. It's all about fit. As JeremyNick points out, good QBs going to bad teams is a recipe for failure. So if you're looking to hold a player, then it's probably Jones for the next few years.

Lawrence does not pass the eye test for me in terms of decision making and football IQ. This goes back to his disastrous games against LSU and Ohio state that ended his last two college years. I don’t think he’s it.

Also the Pats overachieved like the Eagles, Dolphins or Falcons record wise based on a schedule with strength of wins being very low
