I think there was an informative post on here from years ago on these. 99% sure I remember these were from vending machines, yes.
I was looking for these at the Atlanta show a couple weekends ago and didn't find any. Super underrated set imo. |

Pretty neat and rare.
These seemed to have their day in the sun during the 2021 run up on oddball stuff. Not licensed. Not pack pulled. But still early years of big players and rare.

true, but it being the first set to ever feature "refractor-like" or "shiny holographic" foil means its a benchmark set imo. It even features what we now call the "mosaic" pattern, so it's also got familiarity/continuity going for it.

Nothing spectacular about them as a release...my local Sears had the sticker vending machines in the toy section...they had more than NBA, I think there were wwf and I think the a-team (or maybe Mr. T...or who knows...it was a long time ago,) |
