I don't think his value was that high. He had really fallen out of favor w/in the league before his amazing postseason. A stretch of ~10 red hot games isn't going to change that.

Stats or lack of aside, he was very popular here in MN when he was a Twin. I remember many times hearing the ‘Eddie’ chants.
I met him once with my son at an event and I think he’s a good dude.
He stopped signing and posed for a picture with my son. Not all players will bother to do that.

Incredible stats for sure. Way better than the average MLBer for a fraction of the cost. Small sample size so far, but it appears he fits in very nicely with this team.
