"Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall has been stabbed with a knife and taken to a Miami-area hospital, where he has undergone surgery and placed in intensive care.
His wife, Michi Nogami-Campbell Marshall, was arrested Friday night and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
"This is a very difficult time for Brandon and family," said his agent Kennard McGuire in a statement. "Thankfully he will make a full recovery. We simply ask that his privacy is respected."
"Brandon will be okay and is in good spirits," <url>http://twitter.com/</url> his good friend Mike Sims-Walker, a free agent wide receiver who played with Marshall at the University of Central Florida. "[Appreciate] the prayers and concerns!"
The two-time Pro Bowler, 27, was traded to Miami in April 2010 for two second-round picks. He and the Dolphins immediately agreed to a four-year, $47.5 million contract extension, including $24 million guaranteed.
Marshall and his wife were married in April 2010."
