I'll take the only one that has a stat named after him - Maddux.

Randy Johnson from age 34 to 38 is my vote. That was the peak of the steroid era with Big Mac/Sosa/Bonds in peak-roided out years. In those four years he had ERA's ranging from 2.32 to 2.64, with an average of 258 IP each year. You can make the argument for any of these guys.

Randy Johnson. Computer strike zone would kill Maddux. That is not to say he wasn't a great pitcher. He just got A LOT of pitches off the corners called strikes.

Depends on how you want your victims to be killed.
Shot with a bazooka - Unit Stabbed while looking at them - Pedro Poisoned without them knowing - Maddux |

Pedro.
1997-2000 is arguably the greatest four year stretch of any pitcher in history.

I'm going with Pedro having the slight edge over Maddux. Maddux could hit the long ball, but Pedro was better at hitting batters and better in a brawl; just ask Don Zimmer.

I'll wait for coach, johnlocke and the lawyer to finish the discussion before I vote.

Pedro - since OP asked for prime years.
Maddux - easily for career. Randy - any given AB. Clemens - any given half season.

Just kidding it would be Pedro As a side note it is funny that basically all responses thus far only include 4 pitchers, at least we all can kind of agree on this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
