Default Buying/Shipping from Canada

Hey all, I'm looking at buying a card on eBay where the seller is in Canada and having it shipped here to the US. Are there any red flags that I should be worried about? (ex: customs, duties, import fees, etc.)

Seller is charging $12.50 for shipping and has good feedback.

I don't trust Canadians!! Have you watched South Park? I get all my research from there.

Shipping prices have increased greatly recently to the US. Right now it's approx $8-$9 without tracking to the US in a bubble mailer. To have the package tracked and insured, it will be anywhere between $14-$25 depending on additional insurance.

I’ve purchased many hockey cards in the $5-$400 range without an issue. Of course, I only use sellers with strong feedback, no exceptions.

Thanks for the info. Are there any duties I’d pay for a sports card that you’re aware of?

Good to hear. Feedback/reputation isn’t an issue. Just wondering if there are any additional costs to buy from Canada sellers (duties, etc).

Not if you go through ebay. Other than the exchange rate, which paypal handles, nothing else. Does take a week or so longer to get the item (speaking of the US)

If purchasing through eBay it will all be included in your final price.

If you purchase through somewhere like Blowout, Instagram or FB Marketplace, there is a chance you will be paying duties.

I appreciate all of the responses. This gives me more confidence in the cost.
