Derek's Sketch Storyboards - The Empire Strikes Back (Updated 9/29/2022)

I stole this idea from Matt Fuller from his wonderful LoTR Post: to take sketch cards from my personal collection, and use them to create an actual storyboard for the entire movie. Early on I knew this would take years, and in theory it might not be doable at all. We're talking hundreds, if not thousands, of cards to do this completely.

Like the overall project, this thread will take a long time. I will be constantly updating as I fill in holes, commission new cards, & procure new pack inserts. I hope that by sharing my progress I can accomplish a few things. First, keep the excitement about these cards going. Second, honor the movie. Third, honor the artwork. Fourth, show you never-before-seen sketch cards. I personally find that this process continually re-kindles my excitement for both artwork & creativity.
