The greatest name in pro basketball history goes to...

God Shammgod!

I recently hosted a competition on my IG account (@basketbawlers) for the greatest name in basketball history. 36 players were included in the competition and everyone was granted one vote per round. The guidelines were as follows;

All players selected have played in the NBA or ABA at some point.
Each player needed to have at least one standard-issue trading card produced of them with their name. This means that players with nicknames that are not widely accepted as their real name (i.e. Earl The Pearl Monroe) do not count.
Factors to consider include uniqueness of the name, how fun it is to say out loud, and how well the first and last names work together.
International players with names such as "Giannis" are not considered because many such names are very common in the countries where these players are from, so get over it.

God Shammgod came out victorious in the end, beating Mookie Blaylock in the final by a margin of 59% to 41%. I hope that this helps to settle the score once and for all, until a new worthy competitor makes it to the NBA!
