Default What did I Just Open? 1997 Score Team Sets?

Was at Wal-Mart getting apples and oranges and I went over to the cards and seen a box of 1997 Score Carolina Panthers Team Sets with 32 packs. I said for $5.99 I'll try it.

Got 4 Red Platinum Team Cards all Broncos and 1 Gold Premiere Club and it was a Carolina Panther.

You right it was junk. The Red and Gold cards are actually pretty nice looking.

That’s kind of awesome. I would have bought them out. Was it in the original packaging?

I'd definitely be interested in the Alfred Williams and maybe all Broncos if selling. PM a price if interested in selling!

I went to my local Wal-Mart looking for some of these. Sadly I found none. I did think it was telling of the state of the hobby when there was plenty of product on the shelf compared to the pandemic.

Little info on these in my break … I believe if you work the math the Gold Permiere Team come out to under 100 print run and the Platinum reds are roughly 500 … fun breaks but pretty boring outside of the platinum and premieres

I wonder how you got Bronco’s hits in the Panther packs though. I’ve never seen that and I have opened probably close to a case worth of a variety of teams

I would love to find some more of this. Hopefully they will bring more. They actually sell pretty well. Also made 7 sets of Panthers.

Good luck finding more. Unfortunately the more popular teams are pretty much impossible to find anymore. I know Marinocollector has all the info on this set.

Crazy you found that box.
The panthers are definitely one of the harder to find teams. Really odd you got broncos in it too. Never heard of inserts being in the wrong team boxes. But it was such a low production/ regional issue.

Also, not all teams are equal. The packers were the only team allowed to be sold nationwide. Even those are tough finds

Jeff Lewis was a Panther for a short period of time. He was also one of the big moves that ended up getting George Seifert fired after a 1-15 2001 season.

Had been looking for a Leroy Butler for a while, luckily some folks cashed in on his HOF induction and I was able to pick one up.
