Default 1992 MARVEL MASTERPIECES 30th Anniversary Book

Hi, all! I just want to give anyone who is a fan of my original 1992 Marvel Masterpieces set a head's up that FPG Publishing is producing a book celebrating the 30th Anniversary of its release.

All of the details are in the Kickstarter link here: http://kck.st/3Nt8RHG

It runs through the entire month of November.

All of the Original Art Stretch Goals are spoken for, but there are still two other levels that are open and available.

This was easily my most important and career changing job and I’m proud to be involved in the development of this project!

Thanks for your time and attention!

Best,

Joe

Wish I'd seen this before the /104 books were gone! Looks like a great deal IMO. I'll be grabbing what I can now though .

Your 2016 set is what got me BACK into non-sport card collecting after a decade plus of sport cards only. Thank you for that .

This book looks amazing, thanks so much for putting this project together!

1992 Masterpieces is my favorite all-time set, and takes me back to my childhood collecting these cards. To this day I marvel at the awesome art and groundbreaking set.

The original paintings look impressive and very true to the 1992 originals, the lucky owners will be very happy with those! Great idea with the different tiers and the book presentation looks fantastic so far from what Ive seen. I already ordered mine. Thank you!

I was stunned at how fast the Original Art tier was gone! The bronze card is really cool, though!! Thanks for your support!!!

I am still amazed at how revered that set is today! I could never have imagined!

Echo the above comments. Sure would have been nice to have known about this a few days earlier to have had a chance at the top tier.

Yes but no one posted here about them. Oh wait they did post but after it all sold out. Thanks for the heads up though.

It’s been promoted on FPG’s and my Facebook and Instagram pages for the past month, as well as in the Marvel Masterpieces Facebook group. I apologize for not thinking beyond that earlier.

It's the one against all other MM sets since and to come will be judged, and usually found wanting.
Congrats on its continued success, Mr. Jusko, and thanks for checking in here.

Sorry but not on Facebook or instagram much and have no idea who fpg is. Really a fan of your work for 1992 and 2016 and I guess just disappointed that we didn’t get a chance to decide for ourselves whether or not to get the top tier.

I'm in the same boat as you, sfgiants4life. It is what it is. Not everyone is on social media, believe it or not.

Hopefully the paintings were bought mostly by collectors and fans of Mr Jusko and they don't show up on the internet later on at twice the price.

Maybe they can do another book (perhaps a super-deluxe version of the existing IDW book) on the 2016 set, so there'll be a second chance at it for those who missed out on the original art recreations of the 1992 book.

I don't think apologies are due. It obviously was not necessary to promote here to meet your goal, since you have met it nearly 37 times over. If people chose not to be on social media, they should not complain about missing out on things. As sad as it makes me, Blowout Cards Forums is a bit of a relic from the past. Most of other forums I was part of (Scoundrel, GPK Underground) have essentially died off. Even blowout is a mere shadow of what it used to be, with threads sitting on the front page without a comment for over a week. Social media is pretty much where things are at these days. It is what it is.

Thanks for sharing here. Congrats to the people who jumped on that original art tier when it was available. For whoever missed it, I'm sure there will be other opportunities to get some of your original art in the future.

For comics and non-sports, sure, but this place is fairly bustling where sports card talk is concerned.

Gotta say also, how cool is that video that FPG put together on the kickstarter page, with the epic music and all.

I get it that the tiers and respective extras are the focus of many people, but Im just as interested to read the book itself. I had a blast with the previous 2016 MM book and really enjoyed the commentary on the art, with the thought process and evaluations for the various pieces. And just to have the artwork in larger size is great.

Thanks for stopping by Joe! Any chance you can give a sneak peak at how the bronze card looks?

There are sections besides comics and non-sports?!

Fair point. I speak only of what I know. For the purposes of the marvel Masterpieces book, I'm not sure the popularity of those other sections is all that relevant. Context.

I'm the same on both counts, I missed on the original paintings, they were sold out so fast and the 2016 set got me focused on Non-Sport. I am happy to be at least getting the autographed book and bronze spider-man card version tho, looking for to receiving it.

A great add-on would be a signed copy of the 2016 Book, I have an unsigned copy already and living in Australia I doubt I will ever get a chance to have that signed, so being able to purchase a signed copy of the book would be a great option!

Minus getting one signed in person, best bet is to find a 2018 SDCC Hulk variant of that book, some of those tend to be signed since there was a signing at that '18 comic con I believe. They dont come up for sale all that much though.

It seems the Kickstarter link does not have a lot of the info on the project. This should fill everything in.
