2023 Collecting goals

All right, Ill make the official thread. Tired of people saying their 2023 goals in the 2022 thread.

Here's mine:

1) Have two 1948 I need, and 1986 Jordan. I'll settle for getting 1 of these.
2) 1971 Calvin Mack psa 8 and ABA rebounds.
3) Get 20 1971 nba or 1970 I need.
4) Get the 1 1986 I need besides Jordan (Maurice Lucas).
5) Get 5 beauty Tyler Ennis or TJ Ford cards.

-Continue building up my rayray Topps Chrome Refractor collection
-Start buying some base MJ exquisite cards (have snagged my first one!)
-Start buying up some nice looking MJ cards (<$1k). Will target Flair Showcase first as I like the look of 1996 Row 0 and 1997 Row 1

1) Get at least one nice Ben Simmons Nets card. Was very happy with my Simmons pickups in 2022, but those are all Sixers cards.
2) Comb through the collection and sell some of the stuff that doesn't excite me anymore. Been a few years of accumulation, and although I picked up significantly less in 2022 than prior years, I still haven't sat down and reevaluated what I still care about.
3) Buy a lot of Brady. At least one nice enough to give me that feeling of "wow, I'm really spending this much money on a piece of cardboard, huh?"
4) Fewer random parallels and products. I'd like to kick my habit of buying cards primarily for their print runs - no discos, less Choice Greens, and more Golds.
5) May as well repeat last year's goal of not spending over $100 on cards outside of COMC. Don't think it'll be too tough to stick to, but also not going to be devastated if I don't hit this one

1. Stop breaking boxes and stop supporting Topps and Panini, cases have been bs
2. Add more LeBron James Autos to my collection
3. Start to collect my sons name in Letter patches
4. Get some PC Cards graded
5. Less Soccer, more Basketball

1. Consolidate collection as much as possible (get to approx 50 cards outside of set builds)
2. Keep buying One and One golds
3. Start submitting my PC 'To Be Graded' pile
4. Keep dreaming of owning a Giannis Retro PMG Red

Adding Shaq, T-Mac and Penny autos to my Magic PC. It’s a little crazy to me that I don’t have them already. I’ve had opportunities to add them but I’m really particular about what I want, all the way down to what jersey they’re pictured in. Price also has to do with it as I I’m not one to splurge heavily on my hobby. The right ones will come along though at some point so long as I’m patient.

Continue working on Celts autos (have to be wearing Celts jersey). Some tough unicorns out there that are pipe dreams (Pistol Pete)

New additions to the roster will be first priority. Hoping there’s a Rasheed auto Celts card this year as well

I've been trying to collect every base (or a base parallel) of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson released for 2021-22. Hopefully I can finish that up.

Would like to do the same for 2018-19.

Finish 2013-14 Intriguing Players Die-cuts set for Curry (currently at 4 of 10)

Klay Thompson Crown Royale Pacific Marquee (there's two years he's in and I've never seen one for sale!)

That's probably it. Hopefully I can at least finish one of these goals.

1) stick to my budget. If I need to go over, sell non PC Cards to make up for it
2) find more printing plates! I want to complete a set of all 4. I have 3 of so many…
3) add another pre-retirement card I dont own
4) get BGS registry up to 175
5) restart my PC IG harper page

Posted in a BB thread but my 2023 goals are:

1. Add more "free" sealed wax to the sealed wax collection (ideally, a 2003-04 and a 2009-10 BKB hobby product too)
2. Pick up 1-2 "free" mid-end PC rookie cards ($2-$6k range). I'm already targeting a couple but don't want to share the specifics because I don't want/need the unnecessary competition.
3. Rip no more than $6k worth of hobby/retail wax
4. Avoid buying garbage products (e.g., BB21, 2022 TC, 2022 TCU, 2019-20 HPS) at inflated prices
5. Set up at a local card show
