1980 Topps Magic RC PSA 9 prices

I want to buy Magic’s rookie card in PSA 9.

Currently, the asking price is $18k+ on eBay. On PSA’s registry, the last few sales in Q3 2022, it sold for ~$12k.

What price is right for this currently?

Also, is PSA stricter on grading now? Wondering if it would be better to get an older PSA slab or newer.

There’s the nicest PSA 9 I’ve ever seen at PWCC’s Premier auction right now ending Thursday. It’s a PWCC-A and looks flawless.

Pro-tip: If the description says "razor-sharp" edges, it's because the card has been trimmed recently, PWCC knows it or outsourced it, and PSA didn't catch it. If I had a nickel for every trimmed card with a PWCC sticker on it, I could probably buy one of them with nickels.
