Default Panini Redemptions Question

I have several redemptions with Panini that were submitted a while ago:

2018 Panini Threads AUTO Giannis Antetokounmpo (entered October 2019)
2020 Panini Chronicles AUTO Luka Doncic (entered February 2022)

I get periodic e-mails from Panini asking if I still want the cards or a replacement, and I always select YES (I want these cards).

I constantly see newer release Panini autograph cards for both players on eBay, and I always wonder why they can get newer cards autographed and not get autographs on the older cards. Other than pimping new products, is there a logical rationale for why Panini won't get the existing redemptions autographed while they have the pen in the players hand?

There's no logical rationale, for sure. The only theory I can come up with is that these players probably have a certain "allowed" time to sit in a room somewhere and sign cards (whether that be in-person, or mailed out sticker autos). So basically they agree on say "I will sit here for 60 minutes and sign as many cards as I can. Not a minute more, as soon as the bell rings I'm leaving."

Meanwhile, the "backlog" of unsigned cards for the player far exceeds their time limit, so they are forced to essentially pick and choose what gets signed and what doesn't. Who knows how the priority process would go with that. But that's the only reason I can think of. Their backlog of unsigned cards just never gets finished if that's the case. Sucks and it's a mess.

This is why I always thought Panini's redemption is borderline criminal. They are forcing people to replace the older redemptions with other cards since they have no intention of making the redemptions. Then they make up the replacement value also.

Especially for sticker autographs, there is no reason why they cannot stick the stickers onto the older cards over the newer cards.

Anyway, for those 2 cards, never request a replacement online, you will be getting craps for them. It will be a real hassle but you need to talk to or deal with a real person on these.
